So they aren't independent things? You can't set apex missions, and then still go to a bronze MP mission through the main menu?

Whether you do them yourself or send a squad. You can still do regular bronze matches. It's to stop people from farming mission funds, quite obviously.

(haven't got the game, just curious. Only played the 10 hour demo)

They can also be used to buy additional strike teams to run multiple missions at a time for you. People claimed at some point we will be able to buy weapons too but im not sure if that's true or not, and you definitely can not right now.

Not Sp gear?

If you go to the multiplayer missions from the main game when I send a team on the mission it is not available for me to do or am I just stupid and I can?

You can only do each mission once before it refreshes. Whether you choose to personally complete it or you send the team out to do it for you. If you send them you can't do it yourself. If you do it yourself you can't send them. It is to limit how many mission funds you are able to get.

So I don't get it. Say I want to sit down and play a few hours of multiplayer. If I do those two bronze missions am I stuck twittering my thumbs till the refresh? Or going and getting my ass handed to be in silver? Apex missions are missions that provide mission funds for multiplayer and resource and/or credit rewards for signal player. These missions periodically expire and reset with a new one. A mission can only be completed once in the given time period. Strike teams can be sent out to complete these missions at any time from single player or multiplayer and do not require you to actually play any matches in multiplayer. At any given time, one of each level of mission (Bronze, Silver, or Gold) is available to be completed in Multiplayer. These are a special category in the multiplayer match setup menu. These missions provide bonus credits and experience toward multiplayer as well as the single player rewards. However, these missions have modifiers applied to the mission that generally make it more difficult to complete. These can be accessed through the strike team menu in the MP. At least one person must extract for the mission to be successful. Again, these can only be completed once during a given time period. Strike teams can also be used to complete these missions from the strike team menu, but only the single player rewards and mission funds will be granted. Regular multiplayer matches do not have an effect on Apex missions and can be done at anytime and any difficulty. Hopefully that clears things up a little. They really don't do a good job of explaining it in game

And don't forget, in order to complete the tutorial challenge, you have to complete and extract from an Apex mission. That's the player, not a strike team. I just realized this when finishing up for the night last night and this was the last item for completion.

They really don't do a good job of explaining it in game To clarify one detail, OP, there is a difference between "Missions" and a normal game lobby. You're NEVER prevented from playing the game, but the special "Missions" have specific settings and rewards that can only be earned once until a new mission spawns over time. Missions with the orange inverted chevron symbol indicate an "Apex Mission" which features additional difficulty modifiers, and an additional reward (more Mission Credits, XP, etc) For example, selecting a particular strike mission may set the lobby to settings like this: Firebase: Magma Silver difficulty Outlaw enemy faction Additional Modifier: Glass Jaw (Incoming Melee Damage +1000%) When playing a regular old match, the mission setting will say "Custom" to indicate that you are playing a generic match with whatever map/faction/difficulty settings the host selects.

My advice is to send your squads on the silver missions when you have to. Even if they fail, they'll get XP. They might get a negative trait for failure, however you can retire them eventually once you have better squads if you need to.
