The Old Guard (Ye Olde Cullen Thread v4.0 + gen discussion)

I watched this for a while yesterday, and now I have it up again for the music.

Really need to get the ME?DA soundtracks. 

I actually have the ME3 soundtrack. Every time a song comes on while I'm driving it just gets me super pumped and simultaneously wells me up with emotions lol It's a great soundtrack.

Me3 was meant to be dark considering what Shepard has to accomplish. I loved the game, but, yeah, the music... it's awesome and brings tears to my eyes. 

I read somewhere that if you wait until Skyhold to ask Cullen some of the questions that you can ask while in Haven, you get some different dialogue from Cullen. I think it has something to do with his coming back to Fereldon. Has anyone else Heard this?..

I feel really sad for Blackwall; you guys can't stand the poor guy

I do have a mod that kind of... clears his skin up? He still looks his age (4-delicious) but it's just a "cleaner" look. The mod also cleans his beard up so it looks more natural and not that weird forked thing. Yeah I think you can see where this is going. I'm just really tickled to have a companion I actually find personally attractive lol I love his grumpy old man attitude, and I do wish his storyline were better; I find the whole "I"m, uh, a Warden, really I am!" just kind of silly. The whole "sordid past" thing I am actually fine with; I just think the lying about being a Warden belittles the character and strains credibility. I would rather he be what he says he is, a former chevalier or something, but then this awful thing he did way back when gets dug up and you have to deal with it. I don't know, the fake Warden thing just didn't gel with me; I guess you guys feel the same.

Dorian also seems universally loved by all but me; well, when I think about it, being last on this list isn't a horrible thing because all of the characters really are pretty great? Just in terms of story his is the one I liked least, and again, I felt it belittled his character and in particular the scene with his father made him seem really childish. Of course, you should see me around my dad when he's spouting hateful nonsense; yeah, I totally get regressing back to your teenage years, sigh.

Bull would probably be #1 on my list if they'd nixed the stupid BDSM shit. Sorry fans of BDSM; I think it should have been at the most voluntary. I'd have no reason to complain about romance options had that been the case. Cause he's honestly a pretty perfect boyfriend

so Bull is your default warrior? Do you play a warrior too? I find it really hard to play without a S&S warrior. I went through the Hissing Wastes with Bull, Varric, and Solas, and gooooosh, I went through healing potions like you wouldn't believe lol Bull constantly died, though of course I am using his specialty skills; maybe I shouldn't have specced him that way? Anyway, I do switch out with ALL the companions, actually, which is something I never did in DAO and rarely in DA2. DAO I found it too hard to play without Wynne and that it made no sense to leave my fellow Warden behind at camp. So I was always stuck with Alistair and Wynnne. And in DA2 the constant bickering and hatred was too much for me to deal with. Of course DA2 was super easy so I could even play with just Fenris at times which was pretty fun; he has a lot of hidden lines that get overruled by other characters.

Damn imagine the banter between Cassandra and Isabela... or Fenris and Solas. Fenris would have no time for Solas Fade-y nonsense. Except he'd be clever about it, unlike poor Sera, and I think Solas would get flustered and annoyed. Then again, maybe they'd bond over their disdain for the Dalish. Salty elf bros!

Zevran and Isabela... nonstop sex jokes Zevran, Isabela, and Sera *facepalm*

If too hard, you can turn down the difficulty. My main warrior Fenris is DA2 (and Carver, at Act1), Aveline's shield not really miss me. I Inqisition mostly I take Iron Bull, yes, he can die, but np, I can to resurrect him.
Why you hate Carver, he is the most fun little templar bastard! And Shale! She is fantastic!

Sebastian and Sera would be interchangeable, but Sera and her voice more annoying in group. Vivienne simply terrible. 

I understand Carver, because my Hawke's always laughing at him... and he regretted. Grey Warden Carver much more happy and satisfied, than the Templar Carver. But I like both. Templar Carver more fun, especially with hard-line pro-mage.

Oh Anders is a happy romance! Hawke and Anders merrily riding into the sunset, after they goal fullfilled, and later continued to help the other Circles in the uprising. This is a real happy end! (Never left Hawke in the Fade!)
(And I love Aewakening-Anders, but he is sad and lonely. DA2 Anders much more strong and self-confident.)
It would be nice, if I would have so good romance in the Inquisition!

I try to change up my party with every Inquisitor since they have different LI's and besties anyways.. and classes ^^; Still, Bull, Dorian and Solas is my fav party, Lavellan is happy girl.
