I have only a few hours clocked in MP. The other 2 faction bosses are pretty straight forward but so far I just can't quite understand what to do about the Kett boss. It raises the orange barrier a lot that blocks out most of the damage against it. I think there is some kinda small ball shaped drone that follows the boss around. Targeting and destroying it seems to be doing something, but it is quite difficult to aim at it with everything else going on.

I would have a impolite discussion with my teammates then. If I have a charger which mine is like level IV and 1 other teammate we can usually kill him once we get his shield down once. I have had to solo them a few times now.....its getting to the point I'm starting to feel it's rinse and repeat. I try to be a nice guy. I got the medic trophy already and everything  |

Take out the orb first. If you shoot him with a cobra with that thing up he'll just laugh at you.

He really should lose the shield for longer. Or maybe after you destroy it the first time the orb comes back at only half health or maybe the shield doesnt come back after you've broken it once.

Yea I'm really disliking this guy of all the new enemies, he by far need to be hit with more burst damage compared to the rest, which can be a problem with how much stuff can be going on especially on the uploads. Least that's the way it seems to me.

If you use Human Infy, you can throw sticky grenade at him even if he has his aura up. It should do some damage to the orb.

Few well placed sniper shots into that little thing removes sphere,after that whatever , although I like Cobra advice.

Once the orb's down he has to be incapacitated ASAP to delay him getting it back. Hit him with Throw? Freeze him with Cryo Beam? Level him with Concussive Shot? There's options, it just takes a tad more team coordination dealing with an Ascendant than other bosses.

The cooldown seems short because like the Platinum Banshee, you're the only dumbass shooting him, while everyone else is racking up sweet sweet ammo runs and checking their phone for tweets.
Under sustained focus fire he's good for about two bubbles on gold... provided your team actually does that. Four vanguards ramming into him also tends to do wonders, as space pope is not so much about receiving as he is giving.

The team I run with has discovered that taking out everything else first if possible and staying away from this thing is best, then we concentrate on the orbs with two players in front/cover and two in the back, as soon as that barrier is down concentrated fire takes him out fast, we have gone with two players and taken him out during the wave but it's pretty hectic trying to concentrate on him while his friends are shooting you, he is a tough one for sure and as mentioned cobra's are a waste

The orb stops moving when shot, so a high RoF gun like a Charger can stun-lock the orb, letting a sniper hit it. Then I just try to lay as much hurt on until it comes back up (or if scrub team nuke it and save yourself the bother of having to de-shield him a few times). |

Here's how you effectively defeat it: ignore it and focus on taking out other enemies, especially the million or so fucking cloaking dogs the game throws at you. Just make sure it doesn't get close enough to sync you.
By the time you're done making it safe for tunnel vision-stricken pugs, they will have usually dealt with the Ascendant. If they haven't, quit the lobby.
