Honestly I preferred how Mass Effect 2 and 3 did away with the inventory altogether. This. If there is going to be crafting (I could do without it personally) at least make it so that the gear you craft and aren't actively using is in the ship's armory rather than your pockets. There is no reason why weapons and armor should be taking up inventory space. ME2 and ME3 was better in that regard.

Because I'd rather play the game then manage inventory. I HATE managing inventory. As it is now I just dismantle everything and don't even bother with it. I craft only what I need. If I got something better on a mission on well I don't have the time to inspect stats or give a shit. I'll just dismantle it. That being said I haven't encountered any issues with doing this either. As long as you aren't playing on insanity where those things might matter you can probably get away with ignoring loot all together. Bit of a bizarre thing to say, don't you think? This is an RPG. Of course you are going to have manage your gear at some level. Andromeda doesn't force you to micro-manage any more or less than most other average RPGs. Not every CRPG player likes all of the CRPG conventions. I'd like it if ME2's inventory was typical.

Inventory limit indeed limits things too much. Like, each weapon with two mods is -3 slots. Each armour set is -4 slots, and they have very specialised bonuses. Can't research/craft mods so have to keep all the ones that might be useful, and they eat inventory space like piranhas.

It is an action rpg which is like rpg lite. Nothing bad about that, but it doesn't really justify the rpg mechanics especially as many rpgs are moving away from those types of mechanics. MEA isn't really a story that should require it. I have an entire ship AND people who are short on supplies. Dismantling those supplies seems stupid. Also not all rpgs require inventory management some don't have it, as I said earlier it is one mechanic that I think will become less used as time goes on. People just don't like it. Simply put. Many rpgs will allow you to bypass it to your heart's content with leveling up and maxing out your items. MEA doesn't really have this. The most you can upgrade it too is barely above what you start with, pointless. Also most rpgs don't throw loot at you like MEA does. Literally you can fill up your inventory by the first mission on eos alone. And with no way to sell your gear other then dismantle. It is a shitty mechanic and choice. ME3 did just fine without the inventory management. I'm sure we can manage without it.

Any inventory system that uses weight rather than slots is better in any case for my immersive needs (and those aren't that pronounced anyway).

It's somewhat annoying until you get into crafting or see the weapon/armor/mod you want on sell in the shop. Finally figured out crafting and made myself a beastly Grenade launcher shotty yesterday . Basically you'll eventually into selling and deconstructing Al your crap gear sooner or later for better gear
