With gay male romance options being limited to only two non-party characters, as well as heavily censored romance scenes compared to other romance options, Mass Effect Andromeda was clearly developed with a bias against the gay male lifestyle. From the romance scene animation content, it seems clear this game was developed for straight males who would enjoy watching male-female or female-female interactions rather than offer options for anyone of the LGBT community.
While we fully support providing content that appeals to a straight audience, we believe that equal content for LGBT people could have been included without in any way negatively impacting the experience of straight players. This was simply not done out of bias - intentional or unintentional - on the part of Bioware.
We have attempted to contact Bioware for comment but they have not responded. Therefore we believe the best way to send our message is through financial means.

(For the record, while I would love for there to be more romance content for all different kinds of players, this is not worth mass boycotting. There are options and you may not like the quality of which you got, that's unfortunate. It may feel like a step backwards, but they wrote the characters how they envisioned them. I don't think they're making a statement, and I say that as someone who isn't usually dismissive of representation in any media.)

Hey also there is LGBT just not how want it! Suvi is bi because she responded when I flirted and all asari are bi. I read that Gil is gay too... I read Jaal is no but I don't even know Jaal yet...but that's 2 bi girls and a gay guy and there's an asari which does affect straight players because if a straight girl wanted Gil, 10 years ago games catered only to straight people. Now she is just out of luck. So we all affect each other and should respect that. We should also respect that they are trying their best. It's hard to know how something may be taken when you're talking about it to the team and the friends. They were so happy to have it all done they never knew people wanted more gay characters or anything.

I personally think an outright boycott is going too far.
However disappointing MEA options are, they still are among the more progressive devs out there. I'd hate to "punish" them in such a harsh way.
I do think with the overall state of the product, and not just romances, a little slap on the wrist works for me. (buying it on sale).
