I've been coming across a lot of people not realizing that the VOIP is currently bugged and is actually broadcasting their chat, auto-chat basically. I've helped many of those who would listen to my instructions to properly enable push-to-talk and I feel like this would benefit the community as it took me some time to figure it out too. Go to your options, scroll to the bottom and select "Online" on the third row down you should see, "VOIP Activation" by default it is set to "Disabled" but again, it is bugged. Click the arrow on the right side of the box and it will enable push-to-talk. Hopefully this helps others cut back on the feedback and unwanted conversations being eavesdropped  |

I had my mic disabled on my headset and someone asked me to stop swearing ..... nice to know the game isn't the only bugged thing on my pc, apparently the off switch on my headset is as well |

No, where the heck is the hidden mic on my computer... This is a little worrisome. I could only hear myself on one match so I know I have one but now I've got to search to find out what device has a mic in it (looks at mouse...) Check your monitor/webcam. Most modern stuff, especially laptops, come equipped with one for Skype calls and the like and even if you have an external USB-webcam connected to your PC it will probably be detected as a microphone. The amount of chatter going on in this game is currently unbelievable and I had to set the VoiP-output to a device that has no loudspeakers attached to it to not go crazy. I didn´t know about the Deactivate bug though. I have a hardware push-to-talk in my headset and always set it to off when i join a game at first - however, when I talk in Discord, this means, that it should have probably picked up my voicechat too and broadcasted it to my teams... Jiminiychrissakes. Looks like EA learned some moves from the NSA. |

Well, ports shouldn´t be able to transceive audio, on their own. Unless Space Magic.
Best thing to do would be to rightclick on your audio devices in the system tray and select "playback devices". Any microphones that ME:A would be able to use should be listed there.

Last game I played I had to mute all three teammates. I kept unmuting one at a time to be sure but yep, they were all broadcasting every little keyboard tap or background hum.

Does this apply to XBone as well? I've never seen a console game with PTT since there aren't enough buttons. All you can do is toggle mute. Maybe im wrong because I haven't played them in awhile but w/e. |
