I hit level 20 with my Avenger yesterday. Since you currently don't get any perks other than 25 Apex when you reset levels, i guess the best way forward is to level up another character that's tied to a different bonus stat? I won't get any more skill points at level 20, unless i unlock cards? Sure it's ez mode to farm exp for card packs, but probably more fun to play another char.
Asari Huntress IX here i come.

The bonus stats keep on levelling up, I'm not sure how high they go but there is a challenge for levelling up a bonus stat to level 6.

You can keep levelling up the bonus stat for the Avenger though if you keep playing with her, so there is reason to keep playing with that character. That said, I get the idea that hitting level 20 is 'completing' and thus moving on to a new character makes sense, especially when there's so much to try.

Does this game have a DAIMP-like system where promoting characters gives you a permament stat boost?

Confirmed, only 25 APEX points. That's pretty lame. But here's something interesting I found out and not sure if the community is aware, but with each character unlock in the even numbers (II,IV,VI...X) you permanently unlock 2 skill points. So, I just reset my human fem-sentinel X and at level one, I have 25 skill points to start out with, which means you can likely join a round in silver or gold depending on your weapon rank and teammates.
The issue I see for now is that this is not yet known so many random teammates will see a level 1 trying to play silver/gold. More than likely get kicked despite your APEX rank (I'm currently @ 3.6k) Those who have played ME3 know that it comes down to what ranked gear you have. I was playing platinum rounds with teammates that just reset their characters but compensated for they high-end gear they owned. I did the same too.
Anyway, if you care for apex points and getting you ahead in the leader-boards, then reset your 20's otherwise, have them on hold for gold rounds if you're that reliant on every skill point.

Does this game have a DAIMP-like system where promoting characters gives you a permament stat boost? Doesn't seem so, no. No, it doesn't - but it does have the same system for giving permanent stats - you just don't need to promote your characters to do it. Just play, the prestige XP will come I like that, so you can enjoy being max level with your favorite character and still get something out of it, rather than being in an endless cycle of being "mid-tier" where you get to enjoy that max rank maybe one game before promoting.

I was testing it out. Wasn't sure if the points would go away like when you unlocked a new character in ME3. It gave you skill points but it wasn't permanent. I was happy to verify that the points were permanent. It's the second character i've reset. Probably the last now that i've figured this out.

IN ME3 I played mainly gold/plat the last year, probably due to age I was limited to maybe a dozen kits that I used as I didn't like to be carried, since I am back paying bronze/silver and having fun at it I am going to build each kit to 20 and wait for the cards to drop from packs, probably take a year or more to max out the manifest:) Never liked promoting that much, seems to really make it a grind for me.

Now you actually get good at the game, thinking that just because you hit level 20 once with a character you have to move onto something else is kinda lame. I have promoted my human soldier twice and I still feel like I havent mastered him, I will stop playing him whenever either I can solo gold with him (or at least get really close to it) or they release another class that interests me like the dlc classes in ME3.
And the human soldier is somewhat of a straight forward class, something like the human engineer or sentinel would take something like 7 or 8 promotions I would say to completely master their playstyle.
What can I say, Im a loyalist

I never understood why people promote. I'm getting all my kits to 20 and parking them there. Promoting just gimps your kit all over again.
When I finally got my 60 promotions and that challenge done in ME3MP I threw myself a party and never promoted again.

When you promote a character, does it remove the three skill points already specked in the different powers? I used a test card and they were still there before hitting level 20. That's the only reason I would promote each class. A respec card is only 15 mission xp which means I don't have to ever promote...

Glad to know I can just keep my characters at 20 without any real penalty! The only time I can see myself promoting is if I wanted to respec without spending mission credits.

Also, you can unlock respec kits through crates. I've gotten two through basic kits. Not easy to unlock though. Not sure how often the drop rate is on higher tier crates.

So we can't run a 60666 build anymore if we wanted to as it puts a mandatory point in each power?
