Basically what I'm doing. Mostly doing basic packs for the consumable upgrades, mods, etc and occassionally buying a premium/advanced for a shot at somethin nifty (How the f*** do I still not have a single asari adept?) Try advanced packs for the Asari Adept1 I got 5 or 6 asari adept cards from basic crates costing 5000 credits a pop, as well as 6 krogan vanguard cards and a few other uncommon character cards, all from basic packs. Basic packs are the way to go! Up to a certain point of course. |

Since basic kits now give me consumables I've moved up to premium kits now that i've been playing nothing but gold rounds and so far, premium packs have not disappointed. 2 golds and an uncommon is a much better trade off than unlocking commons in premium kits  |

Pulling a uncommon from the basic pack is like winning a mini lottery, if someone is specifically trying to get a uncommon card unlock, the advanced pack is guaranteed one. But again with so many uncommon unlocks getting the specific thing you're looking for is a low chance. |

Expert packs are also better than Premium. For 100k you get 8 cards plus 2 definite rares, versus 3 + 2. And I seriously doubt ultra rare chances are double or more. But I'm sure some number cruncher can decipher that.

But I'm sure some number cruncher can decipher that. Sure, I didn't think about it in that manner, but your chances of getting an uncommon in an expert are low. One gold round equals you one gold pack to purchase which will grant you one gold for certain. Now, If you play two rounds of gold you'll have enough to be a premium pack which will give you two golds with a possibility of an ultra-rare and even on uncommon. Luck has definitely played a part where i've opened premium cases which gave me 2 golds and an uncommon. I've got a surplus of consumables from farming basic kits so I really don't care for buying two gold packs to get two golds and six consumables. |

Still chugging along, maxed all my commons buying basic packs. Now repeating the process for the uncommons with the advanced pack. I figure by the time all the uncommons are maxed (weapons, mods, characters), we'll have some data to hint at whether the best bet is the expert pack or the premium pack.
Now, working on getting all my Level X characters to Level 20. I got a few respect cards with the basic packs ... figure by the time I'm done with the advanced pack, I'll have enough to fix any mistakes I make in loadouts for kits I'm interested in playing after leveling up.
It's interesting to see the progress during level up. Also the differences in characters ... some are offensive wonders, others seem better suited to support roles. Will be interested to see how the game plays with high level Rare weapons and mods. |

It's a sound strategy to go with solely 5k packs.. but you ain't gonna get that Hurricane in a 5 or 20k pack. I like to mix them up.. 1 5k pack, and 1 50k pack per gold match. When rockets and gels get low.. I'll spend the whole 50k+ on 5k packs, then back to the original idea. It's more exciting to do it that way.. because you unlock at least SOME powerful gear.

When I was finally capable of doing gold runs (few days before this original thread post) I was spending all 55k on basic kits. Tons of unlocks with both common and uncommon. |

Taking it off the board, with fewer credits, so that my credits go for things I care about. If I could go to the store and buy what I want, your point would be valid. But I don't get to pick what I want, the drops are random. My last 3 common upgrades were for my SR scope, pistol melee stunner and AR stock. I actually want those. The Katana and Predator maxed out fairly early in the process for me ... sooner than maxing out my character cards ... which allow me to fully evolve my characters.
So ... I hear what you are saying, but with the RNG store we have, that point is not valid. IMHO*.
