For a moment there, I thought you did a Platinum solo with the Kineticist using melee-only! If only melee was more viable on Platinum. I was wondering how you were going to deal with the Ascendant orbs and the Fiend's armor. Good use of LBS and canisters to protect yourself and take down the Fiend's armor. lol, good heavens, no.
Platinum wave 1 would likely take 20 minutes on its own if I tried to only melee my way through. To say nothing of the rest of the waves and objectives.
As for the Ascendant, as you can see in the video, it's really hard to get a connecting hit melee wise onto the orb, which is why in the end I was forced to use Lance to take it down, otherwise it would have inflated the video time by many times over just to get a pure melee run. With regards to the Fiend, I felt that it was better to speed it up a tiny bit whilst avoiding their sync kills, through use of Pull + Throw, otherwise the time again would have inflated by many times over if I stuck to using her fists to kill it. Especially bad since my controller is now in really bad shape, so many punches were not triggering and had to abandon the melee attempt a few times in that video against the Fiend.
The "Out in the Open" Hack/Upload is functional all the way to Gold . Platinum I've only ever done an Upload once, and it needed many First Aid kits as well as being in the one position where it was possible to tank everyone and hack at the same time; and that is the Sandstorm Sniper Spot at the top. The spawn and traversal times of the enemies take just long enough to get up there to begin to attack you where you can get around 50% of it done before the mobs arrive. If you get a LBS (Living Biotic Shield) up to deflect weapons fire and tank via shields, through the use of some First Aid Kits, it is possible to complete the Upload by standing out in the open. This works because you exploit the script for enemies where if they can target and fire at you, they will fire rather than approach, no matter the distance. Stay on the circle edges and keep presenting yourself as a target so they shoot but not approach. Hack takes too long, so standing out in the open is only viable up to Gold unfortunately.

If I hadn’t already done a Kineticist run, I would try your LBS technique with a Platinum Wave 2 Hack or Upload. Wave 4 and 6 are all but impossible with all of the enemies that rush you. I’m basically retired from ME:A, and I haven’t had the urge to get Anthem yet. My controller was on the fritz for several of my solos; the move stick kept drifting, so I would constantly be moving while in cover or while disabling devices. I’m basically retired from ME:A, and I haven’t had the urge to get Anthem yet. My controller was on the fritz for several of my solos; the move stick kept drifting, so I would constantly be moving while in cover or while disabling devices. Well, I tried to do a Hack today with the Platinum APEX with Hyper Shields, and got a really bad position (not the worst, but a bad one still). Was only able to hit around 1/5th the way at best before enemies walked into the circle. It's the location inside the rooms on the right as you go towards the camping site in Zero. But alas, it's a multi-way entry spot there, so it was not possible to tank the run and Hack at the same time. Tank yes. Hack as well, no. Not unless they revert it to how it was before (where you only need to be standing in it). Then the Kineticist will have a field day in there. As for your controller, it's a shame you don't have a config utility ala Windows 10. My 360 controller is terrible as well, with with the config updated in Windows 10 and the settings in game (controller dead zone setting), I was able to get some more life out of it. Will try again later today with the APEX mission if I can't get a better position Upload or something. The Landing Zone or Camping spot will be best, although preference would be the LZ, since if you stay on the edge of dropping down, they won't bother circling around to get you most of the time since they can shoot you, or they get stuck deciding whether to shoot or not since they can't "see you" (target you from the Biotic Living Shield).

Batarian Vanguard Madawot | 23 March 2019 | 48:49 | Sandstorm | Kett | Platinum | Naladen Siphon VI and Rozerad Siphon X | Devices, Devices, Retrieval | Xbox
One of my earliest Platinum solos was with the Batarian Vanguard and the Naladen. However, I did not record that video. Over a year later, I completed another solo with the same setup. The Naladen has good synergy with the Vanguard. Shoot at the ground, and the AOE damage will eliminate shields from Anointed, Destined, and Observers, causing them to float in the Batarian's Annihilation Field.
Brought the Rozerad as a backup and for taking out bosses like the Behemoth, Blaze Hydra and Ascendant Orbs. With the Targeting VI III, Vulnerability VI, and Incendiary Ammo, they were not a problem.
* Charge: 1 point * Annihilation: 4A 5A 6B * Flak Cannon: 4A 5B 6B * Weapon Training: 4A 5B 6A * Combat Fitness: 4A 5A 6A • Vulnerability VI * Incendiary Ammo IV * Targeting VI III * Naladen Siphon VI * Rozerad Siphon X

Heya, guys!
I'm playing MEA again and I'm tempted to try solo some thing. What would be the easiest thing? Map/enemy/kit/weapon? Mind you, I only played a bit of MP and don't have everything (or more like, anything) unlocked, so recommend some noob stuff if possible? I don't aim for high difficulty. Bronze would do fine for starters.
Thanks!
PS HoF update coming soon.

Which ones you have opened?

On bronze You can go with anything. Good luck

I have plenty of vids on YT (see my sig) on Sandstorm. Zero and Magma are also easily do-able for a first-time soloist. If it gets too hot and heavy, you can circle to the other side of the map.
Kett are the easiest, though they have the hardest Wave 6 Upload/Hack objective since the Ascendant and Fiend both respawn once. For Outlaw and Remnant, just get rid of the bosses (Destroyers, Hydras, and Behemoths), and they won’t respawn on Wave 6.
Gold and lower, pretty much any weapon will work.

Punch, punch, punch and more punching. With (Nearly) no shots fired; really should make mental notes on what to do in future so it's more concise. But made a mess during the start of wave 6 as couldn't decide on what to do. Wave 3 was Hack, and once again, I stood in the open and never fired a single shot.
Oh, may want to take note of the video at the following timestamps: 02:08 15:18
Human Kineticist Monk-Zheng ( monk ) | 27 March 2019 | 22:37 | Magma | Outlaw | Silver | N7 Hurricane (Siphon) IV, Rozerad (Siphon) VI | Hack, Assassination | PC Video may not be up yet as post is put up very shortly after upload.

Nice. No damage to you after punching a fire barrel. Do you know if it would kill a Fiend/Hydra in one hit like it used to?

Nice. No damage to you after punching a fire barrel. Do you know if it would kill a Fiend/Hydra in one hit like it used to? It would make a lot of runs a lot more smoother and quicker if that were still possible . May run around a try a few things since there might be a bug that makes it possible. Unsure.
Found the the 6b Saving Barrier evolution (along with 5b Shield per Melee) would do a fake Active Barrier for yourself (with Biotics), so who knows? Might be able to amp the damage output out to what it was before with the right combination of stuff.
Oh, the fake Active Barrier requires a passive Biotic kill through Evironmental Effects (Removal from Map), so that means everyone with Barrier and Pull/Throw/Shockwave/Nova can simulate this fake Active Barrier. Although Shockwave and Nova requires specific evolutions in their ability to make it work. Also, not every map is suitable to attempt this on, which is a shame, but fun still to realise that you could have the best of both evolutions.

Krogan Gladiator (Draining Field)Madawot | 28 March 2019 | 26:28 | Zero | Kett | Gold | Naladen Siphon VI, Piranha Siphon V | Devices, Upload | Xbox A melee-centric Gold solo with the Krogan Gladiator that was specced into Pull 6B Biotic Drain and Annihilation 6A Draining Field. I find this build to work better in a team environment, since all the aggro isn't focused on you. Draining Field only replenishes 30% of my shields, which isn't enough when enemies can whittle the rest of your shields down in an instant. Naladen is good for AOE damage and stunning enemies with the first blast. Piranha for the boss Fiends and Behemoths (if I were to get Boss). Objectives: Devices / Upload * Pull: 4B 5B 6B * Annihilation: 4A 5A 6A * Nova: 1 point * Offensive Biotics: 4A 5A 6B * Rage: 4A 5A 6B * Juggernaut Shield * Naladen Siphon VI * Piranha Siphon V * Strength Enhancer III * Cyclonic Mod III

Krogan Gladiator (Vortex + Shield-Powered Nova)Madawot | 28 March 2019 | 22:05 | Zero | Kett | Gold | Venom Siphon X, Piranha Siphon V | Upload, Upload | Xbox A final melee-centric Gold solo with the Krogan Gladiator that was specced into Annihilation 6B Vortex and Nova 6B Shield-Powered Nova. Double Upload made this a difficult solo, but the Kroglad with her Venom and Piranha got the job done. I like this build personally over the Draining Field build in the previous post. Objectives: Upload / Upload * Pull: 1 point * Annihilation: 4A 5A 6A * Nova: 4B 5B 6B * Offensive Biotics: 4A 5A 6B * Rage: 4A 5A 6B * Multicapacitor * Venom Siphon X * Piranha Siphon V * Strength Enhancer III * Cyclonic Mod III

Meleeing Human JuggernautMadawot | 28 March 2019 | 21:19 | Sandstorm | Outlaw | Gold | Dhan Siphon VI and Shorty Siphon VI | Devices, Hack | Xbox Wanted to see how viable a meleeing Human Juggernaut build is. Short answer: Not as good as a weapons build. The Remnant Gauntlet freezes red bars, but you're more exposed to enemy fire while punching. Even with buffed up damage resistance with Fortify and Remnant Armor, you have to be careful not to get downed. Hack wasn't too bad once I took out the Hydra and two Berserkers, who don't respawn like on Platinum. Objectives: Devices / Hack * Snap Freeze: 4B 5B 6A * Fortify: 4A 5B 6B * Shockwave: 1 point * Apex Training: 4B 5A 6A * Remnant Armor: 4B 5B 6A * Berserker Package • Strength Enhancer III * Universal Power Amp IV * Dhan Siphon VI * Shorty Siphon VI

Putting this here as it was based on recent challenges players have taken up. Not for the Hall of Fame as I didn't complete. ... Now for that Platinum Hack... Awesome demonstration. I tried it with the Krogan Gladiator, but three things made it less optimal than with your Kineticist: - Annihilation Field kept whittling away the health of the pulled enemies.
- Kroglad's hit box must be bigger than the Kineticist, allowing enemies to hit me even when holding an enemy or two.
- Less DR. Kroglad doesn't have much DR even when in Rage compared with the Kineticist in Ascension Mode.
How did the rest of the match go? You seem to be doing really well up to Wave 3.

Got up to Wave 5 at around 16 minutes in, but had a call that I needed to pick up a family member who had arrived early (darn jetstream tailwinds...), so was forced to abandon the run. When I got back the Mission had already expired. In any event, got what I wanted really and that was the demonstration of how it is possible to do Hacks/Uploads without needing to fire your weapon, or even Stealth to do so. So I just snipped the video at the end of the upload objective. Will reattempt at future point, but for now, aiming for that Platinum demo.

Do you think you can tank a Hack/Upload without the Hyper Shields modifier? Which Platinum faction and map will you be testing this on? Can be done for all difficulties, but for ease of demo'ing the method (and I got lazy and wanted to do melee at same time ), I just look for Hyper Shields modifier so I have more leeway.
For the Plat match, the only one I've ever been able to do was back on Sandstorm, so I know that one is doable and will be largely aiming for that one. Just need to get the right objective now and have the time to get it done.

Salarian ArchitectMadawot | 1 April 2019 | 22:18 | Magma | Kett | Gold | Venom Siphon X and N7 Valkyrie Siphon IX | Devices, Retrieval | Xbox The Venom is a really good weapon when used in close quarters like the kitchen on Firebase Magma. With enemies all bunched up together, the Venom can really lay some serious staggering damage. Objectives: Devices / Retrieval * Wave 1: 0:01:18 * Wave 2: 0:04:11 * Wave 3 Devices: 0:06:21 * Wave 4: 0:09:37 * Wave 5: 0:12:21 * Wave 6 Retrieval: 0:16:06 * Wave 7: 0:21:03 Time: 22:18 Build: * Remnant VI: 4A 5B 6A * Barricade: 1 point * Incinerate: 4A 5B 6B * Offensive Tech: 4A 5B 6A * Support Systems: 4A 5A 6A * Assault Loadout * Venom Siphon X * N7 Valkyrie Siphon IX * Incendiary Ammo III * Universal Power Amp III

Human Female Infiltrator Madawot | 2 April 2019 | 28:29 | Paradox | Remnant | Gold | N7 Valiant III and Talon Siphon X | Upload, Retrieval | Xbox Cloak makes things so easy. Wanted to see how the N7 Valiant worked. It’s alright, but the Black Widow or Kishock are better overall sniper rifles. Mistakenly equipped the Combative Upgrade, which did nothing for the Valiant (it boosts Assault Rifle and Pistol damage by 15%). Objectives: Upload / Retrieval Build: * Sticky Grenade: 1 point * Tactical Cloak: 4B 5A 6B * Incinerate: 4A 5A 6B * Munitions Training: 4A 5B 6B * Combat Fitness: 4A 5B 6B * Combative Upgrades * N7 Valiant Siphon III * Talon Siphon X * Sniper Rifle Amp III * Targeting VI III

Human JuggernautMadawot | 7 April 2019 | 18:52 | Derelict | Outlaw | Platinum | P.A.W. Siphon IV and P.A.W. Concussive VI | Boss, Devices, Retrieval | Xbox I finally broke through the sub-20 and sub-19 minute Platinum Solo time barrier with this 18:52 run with the Human Juggernaut on Firebase Derelict against the Outlaw faction. No mission modifiers were used unlike my previous sub-20 using Go For the Eyes on Sandstorm. While not the world record for MEAMP on all platforms, I think this is the current WR on Xbox. If I had triple boss or even Devices on Wave 6, I might have gone sub-18. Retrieval just makes these speed runs take too long; the ideal objectives are triple Boss (maybe with one Devices sprinkled in). RNG is a fickle beast, and I'm not going to be attempting this again, so please enjoy! Objectives: Boss / Devices / Retrieval * Wave 1: 0:01:09* Wave 2 Boss: 0:02:32* Wave 3: 0:04:21* Wave 4 Devices: 0:07:10* Wave 5: 0:09:58* Wave 6 Retrieval: 0:14:08* Wave 7: 0:17:24Build* Snap Freeze: 4B 5B 6A * Fortify: 4A 5A 6A * Shockwave: 1 point * Apex Training: 4A 5A 6A * Remnant Armor: 4A 5A 6A * Vulnerability VI * P.A.W. Siphon IV * P.A.W. Concussive VI * Assault Rifle Amp III * Disruptor Ammo III This also constitutes an Unmoving Solo. Thanks to AB1381 who used this camping spot to get some incredible times, including a 12:47 Perfect Platinum Solo on PC (Juggernaut with the GFTE modifier).
