MEA looks kinda cartoonish to me and the faces aren't expressive in more then one way usually. Cora always smiles even when she is saying something sad. In ME3 people looked expressive sometimes. And maybe it's just me but it looked better as well all around. I really hope bioware fixes this the next mass effect game.

I don't think mass effect 3 looks better, but I do think the character models in andromeda have not improved much since me3 which really isn't good considering me3 came out in 2012. And I agree the animations looked better in me3 even if they were overused. With how much criticism this game is getting, the future of the franchise is uncertain but the sales will probably ultimately decide if we get another game and also if the devs get the opportunity to do better.

Depends on the zone/scene.
Citadel wipes the floor with the Nexus but Hyperion looks better than the Citadel.
Turians look bad.
But Salarians in cut scenes look incredible.
Biotic explosions look like ME2.
But Drack is best looking Krogan for a long time. Despite being all of 5ft tall for some reason.
Its a mixed bag.

You're thinking more about graphic style than if it looks better texture wise? The style is different because of Frostbite vs Unreal. I prefer this one, but i do think some models could do with polish. The Tempest looks incredible though, puts the Normandy to shame.

Facial animation is problematic, but overall I'd say that MEA all around looks better on a technical level beyond that, though not exactly by leaps and bounds. The environments are definitely superior, and there's a far better sense of space that the original trilogy did not enjoy. As for cartoonish, I'd say that's BioWare's signature aesthetic. They always look a bit cartoonish.

Animations are superior in ME3, that includes movement and facial. Andromeda has superior graphics tho, I've seen vid comparisons of the two and when you look at Eos compared to mars(desert worlds) or plants to plants, citadel to nexus, Andromeda makes it look more in depth in terms of detail(and it should being how it's using the superior frostbite engine). Even the aliens look better, asari face paint and all that jazz. What I don't like with Andromeda is how turians look much skinnier As well as other races getting their bodies redesigned. Art style wise both are pretty much the same.
I also believe ME3 is far cartoonier than Andromeda but even then, I don't mind a cartoony look.

Yeah, BioWare took the cues from the Normandy and poured a lot of improvements into it. I'm still bothered by the compressed space that doesn't reflect the actual shape of the ship, but I'm used to that by now and I won't let it get to me XD…..>_<

Not even remotely. The facial animations are no worse than in ME3, the just seem like it because (a) the models and textures are far more detailed in MEA and ( 2017 games shouldn't have 2012-level animations. Everything else looks much better than in ME3 - the body animations, the environments, the textures, the lighting, the butts... In fact, this game as a whole looks fantastic aside from facial animations and some weird design choices (eg Addison's makeup). Oh and hair, although that's still better than it was in the OT.

but facial animations are bad you're right about that

The only thing better in ME3 is the facial animations. Aside from that, Andromeda is better imo.

When I first started playing it I thought it was a step backwards graphics-wise, heck even ME2 looks better in a way... For the game-play, the video pieces do look better I think on ME:A. I think part of my problem with it is that some of the graphics/sounds look and sound like they were simply lifted out of Dragon Age Inquisition, and I dare anyone to disagree - hexagonal scenery, the explosions, the ominous rip in the sky with a vortex etc etc - at times it was like DA:I set in space. I honestly hoped for something better on a next-gen console after the hype. When I look past that, and the performance/glitches issues I'm having, it's quite a good game.

Most of the problem comes IMO from the coherence from the entire world. There are great nuances of effort shown in the game. Some characters have a terrible rigging/skinning making metal armor looks like paper folding. Some characters (especially korgans on new tuchanka) have missing lightning resulting in a total black/silverish face where only the basic reflections are shown but lack textures. Animations are absolutely terrible but what gives it away among everything is the "mise en scène" of every scene/character. The lack of proper cutscene with characters behaving in a certain manner really gives away the non-natural feeling of the animations falling deeply in the uncanny valley with very detailed texture but terrible animations compared to the realisticness of some models. I do not like that camera that just get closer for each dialog, character facing you is baiscaly repeating a set of loops that reveals how life-less its programming is resulting in a total cartoon look.

Agreed I think it's a matter of style really because faces and people are a bit weak on Frostbite but in terms of locations and beautiful cutscenes like DAI's introduction of Skyhold for example this engine is excellent. With Unreal I agree faces looked better however locations didn't look quite as impressive, they weren't bad by any stretch of imagination but they don't quite match Frostbite's in this area. Based on what I've seen though MEA is a step forward on DAI though in most areas

Yes it looks better and the game play is far better than Andromeda. IDK what the hell we're they're thinking and it should be better than ME3 not the other way around. It's all over for BW now.

Personally Liara looks better in 3 than any of the Asari I've seen. They just did more with less powerful tech IMO. Andromeda has some beautiful landscapes but the character designs are such a mixed bag.

Graphical quality of MEA is good most of the time. The lighting can be hit or miss at times but overall it looks pretty good from a technical perspective.
Most of my complaints about the looks are stylistic choices, like the whitewashed Turian and Krogan faces, the neanderthal human faces, the man hands on the human/asari females, and the stubby human bodies that look like 1/4 of their legs are missing.

no, MEA looks better, has more different colors
ME3 was ok fr the kind of story, the reapers are desrtoying everythng, it's darker , but A is more relaxed, optimistic, so, it's ok to have colors
