And this isn't about alien lesbos, cause we've got plenty of those. What pisses me off is that there are no galiens for Male Ryder, like, it just hit me, there isn't a single male/male alien LI in any of ME games. Like, wtf, I was totally sure I could romance Jaal, I mean Vetra bi the way has no issues, but apparently he's only up for female Ryder. Bummer. Nobody cares about lame "hooman" gay grease monkeys with tragic backstories unless they're hot aliens. Didn't work for Cortez- who carez, and doesn't work for Gil-did-you-know-I-make-personal-modifications-to-the-ship the shrill.
Like, am I the only one dissapointed by the lack of interspecies M on M options? I'm also definitely not one of those losers who complains that cora isn't Bi, cause like, we've got other lez, but we aint got no galiens! That's xenohomophobist!

And well, Macen as well since they obviously are in a relationship. And I heard that there's a datapad about two angaran dudes getting married.

I only noticed a hint at homo turian Spectre, though I'm still playing the game Yes, him. And well, Macen as well since they obviously are in a relationship. And I heard that there's a datapad about two angaran dudes getting married. But man oh man, did they ever show male/male romances from a bad side with that turian pathfinder. I mean, it's one thing to feel emotionally attached to your lover/partner, but when you're a highly trained professional, who's responsible for thousands of lives with heavy military background and you're willing to quit everything and become a low-life loser just cause your top was K.I.A.'d on a highly dangerous mission that he was prepared to give his life.. it makes you look like an emotionally unstable chompski dweeb

I mean sure, aliens arent robots (well not all aliens) ((hashtag#NotAllAliens)) But he's been talking about that guy for like days on straight, and that's the only thing he focused on during dialogues, I mean sheesh, are you a spectre or a schoolgirl in love? In my mind it almost paints gay people as incapable of dealing with their emotions until getting motivated to do the right thing. And it'd be a totally different if he just came around on his own and took the job, but he needs coaxing! Like, srsly? Ryder's dad died and he got no choice and this guy acts like a total pansy and can ditch on the survival of his race in the new galaxy unless I sweet talk him into it? IDK...

No, I don't want the only openly gay alien guy in the entire game to be an emotional catastrophe when he's being held responsible for the survival of his species. It just gives a bad impression

It just gives a bad impression It's weird, because I thought the loss of his lover was so quickly, easily and abruptly swept under the rug lol. Overall, why he talked about his lover so much could've been just a way to keep the gayness integral and obvious. And it's weird you say '' gives a bad impression '' because I look at Avitus as such a cool, interesting guy, and him being gay is only secondary, but just makes him more interesting and I feel he is pretty damn nice representation.

That's exactly part of the problem. 85% of his dialogue pre-becoming Pathfinder is about how he cares for this maecius guy, and it's not subtle at all, and really hammers the point that he's gay. But then if he becomes a Pathfinder, it's like he's a totally different and confident character. There's only one line dialogue about it, I think. Alternatively he just becomes a mess freelancer on oultaw desert planet and is very apathetic about his entire species. I accidently made the wrong move by not forcing him to become the pathfinder, under the impression that you have to let the guy cope with the emotional trauma and let him choose it on his own terms, but NOPE! And it really fucked up my game and I had to reload and waste 2 hours cause I made the wrong decision by thinking Bioware can write an emotionally intelligent homosexual character.

I think in general Avitus was terribly handled, he deserved more, but when you say 85% of his dialogue is about Macen, that's a bit of a lie right there. During his mission, yes, but that's obviously because you are trying, to find, his lover. Of course the spotlight is going to be on the two and their relationship.

Yes, they veeery distantly hint at them being more than just '' friends '' but he doesn't reveal anything at that point. Big part of the MEA plot is the pathfinders in the end, so of course that's going to be the focus. He then further hints at a relationship if you pry for details, and even then he doesn't outright tell you anything.

Calling it a "distant hint" is an understatement, he blatantly says stuff like "He's REALLY important to ME!" and stuff. It's written like a fanfiction. There's even a trans girl in the game that literally says: "Hi I'm michelle but on Earth people called me michael" or something along those line. Most trans people would NEVER say their previous names openly like that at the first meeting with another person. BioWare just can't write gay/bi/trans people at all IMHO... The best example is Reyes, cause he has charm and doesn't dance around his sexuality at all unless provoked
