Aveline rules. She's definitely my favourite of all the Dragon Age warriors.
My favourite Aveline moment? Letting her interrogate the corrupt guard in act 2. Absolutely priceless.

I wonder what Aveline did during the first year in Kirkwall. Did she work for Athenril or Meeran with the Hawkes? It sort of seemed like she was going to, but it wasn't mentioned afterwards. Did they kick her out for being a pain in the arse? Hard to imagine her as a criminal. Maybe joining the guards got her out of having to work for them.

I initially didn't like Aveline(though that was a pattern for me with most companions in DA2 to be honest),but then i understood she is a BEAST.Until i calibrated myself to nightmare difficulty,in many fights she would be the only member left standing.
Also,love-struck Aveline=adorkable!

I like how in the final battle, Meredith's clearly meant to stun everyone so she can rant at you, but because Aveline's immune to stun she's not having it and just keeps right on fighting. I'm sure it's a mistake, but it seems very appropriate for her character. |

She doesn't react (apart from + x rivarly points) to any crime committed by Hawke or party members (Ella can be murdered by Anders/Justice/Vengence out of rage, Hawke can take assassination contract on noble if they worked for Meeran, hunting down Amaranthine traitors was also considered as not exactly legal... and she does nothing about it). Not that I'm complaining...  But hell, even Merrill lampshades this! "Shouldn't you arrest us? I'm sure we're breaking the law. There are laws for everything." I guess she takes Hawke as necessary evil, given how they clean up the streets from gangs and stuff every third year... |

Only Sebastian's thinking about betraying Anders/Merrill, but Fenris convince him, not do it without Hawke's agree... Aveline, I suppose, thinking similar. Hawke and Hawke's family helped her a lot, so she closes her eyes. At the end game, if Hawke spares Anders' life, she tells Anders, he must turn himself in for his crime, when it's over. Do not speak about she will arrest him... Aveline's not perfect, but I suppose, better than most of the guards. Corruption's not so rare... |
