Not in any of the Mass Effect games has their been a bi human female squadmate. They just do the same thing every time. Ashley, Miranda, Jack, Cassandra from DA: Inquisition and now Cora. Why do they keep following this formula of two human squadmates male and female both are straight. Ashley and Kaiden, Miranda and Jacob, Cora and Liam, all human squadmates that are straight only romances. Though Kaiden was suddenly bi in ME 3, but for some reason Ashley couldn't be? I am tired of them always doing this, and what is worse in my opinion is I have now power or voice big enough for them to hear. Dorian was a great start in Inquisition for gay male human squadmates, but when it came time to reinvent and go beyond the same old character script, they just got lazy and said straight male squadmate and straight female squadmate. Never did they think Scott should be able to romance Liam or Sara romance Cora, at least in my opinion. I am usually very positive and not much bothers me in games, but that they keep doing this every time is driving me crazy. I really think that those of the squad you can romance should all be bi, and the rest a mix. Some say that isn't realistic, but if I wanted realistic I wouldn't be playing an game with non real characters. Is it too much to ask that at least the human squadmates be bi for once, why is always just mostly elfs and aliens and secondary characters? Overall Mass Effect is my favorite game series, but every time they they do this makes me sad. I love Ash, Miranda, and Jack, and Cora now, but not being able to ever romance them as the female protagonist is bulls**t.
Anyone else feel the human squadmates should be bi?

Personally, I think all the romances should be straight, even though that isn't realistic. if i wanted realistic, I'd not be playing a game with characters that weren't realistic. Is it too much ask that bioware recognize my fetish of wanting to romance people who do not share my sexuality. ITS BULLSHIT.

Anyone else feel the human squadmates should be bi? They should be whoever they are written as. There are dozens of women irl I wish that were bi. That would at least give me a fighting chance. Problem is, I don't get to decide who/what they are. I just have to deal. with. it.

Because asari usually steal the "designated bi woman" slot.
I'm just glad we got Vetra tho. :dumb:

Honestly, I think Dragon Age 2 was best at "wish fulfillment" but then jerks were like, "Oh, Merrill isn't REALLY bi because she's determinant that way."
That got people annoyed.
And with good reason.

I also agree that Dragon Age 2 had it right with everyone being "player-sexual".

Yeah she's not bad looking, but I can't call her a milf because there's just something way too wholesome about her. Only one that interested me was Suvi. Peebee is okay but she has that weird Ninja Turtle face paint...

I'm a gaybro thats currently embattled with bioware for the m/m romances debacle so I'm not getting the game. But, if mods come out that give Cora a zero suit samus ponytail? Yea I'll cave and romance the fuck out of her.

Cora's romance is so well done, and her facial animations are the best of any of the human characters in the game. I mean, that kissing scense is amazingly well done. Alas, she is a continuation of the loooong tradition of straight human squaddies. I was disappointed enough in the first few games with Tali, Miranda and Jack, but now it's just getting excessive. It's too bad that the designers seem to think that having an Asari is "good enough" when it comes to queer squadmates - it's getting pretty tiresome after this many games.
Thank God we got Vetra, at least - Cheryl Lee is amazing for ensuring that we got the first ever queer (non-Asari) alien squadmate. Hopefully the next game will give us some humans, and give the gay guys, well, any squadmates.
I think that "everyone is bi" is unrealistic and potentially problematic, but the current system doesn't quite seem to be working perfectly either.

And Kaiden was straight in the first one but bi in ME 3. So writing can chance, why does every female human squadmate always have to be straight only? And the goes mostly for male human squadmates too.

First I fell in love with Ashley, but she didn't want me. Then I fell in love with Morrigan, but she didn't want me. Then I fell in love with Aveline, but she didn't want me. Then I met Jack and was certain she...but she didn't want me. Cassandra wasn't interested either. And now Cora... My heart can't take any more interesting but disinterested strong, female, humans with gay hair.
