Any suggestions from players having a lot of success in silver and gold! What's the current 'meta'?

Not really, just get your gun skill up and you'll likely do fine.

Well Asari Sentinel. Nice with Backlash (damage immune for you and anyone behind you while it up also gives shield restore). It also reflects the Ascendant boss orb attack.
Apparently Asari Adept melee + annulation debuff build is stupidly strong (there's a post here about it). Not sure about the rest but a good gun will do the job fine.

If you want to do silver or gold on the cheap do a human vanguard. It is a common so you get upgrades in the basic pack for the character card and it can play with any weapon. A long ranged weapon is probably best for taking out observers and enemy stacks without going in when it is a bad idea on gold, on silver the enemies don't do enough damage and you can let your team mates handle fiends and ascendants. How I skilled my human Vanguard (might not be optimal but it works fine for me): 6 (a,a, <--- Most important 6 (a,b,a) 4 (a) 4 ( 6 (a,b, <--- Second most important Basic idea is to never run out of shields and if your 25% hp auto shield triggers your charge should be back out of cooldown and you can get out. The bonus melee equipment being sold right now is very good since you melee hit a lot, you don't have a good weapon. If you have a good sniper rifle, pick an infiltrator and max the invis to revive and cap points. Then snipe stuff. Pick sniper on soldiers, engineers and adepts as well since it does more damage than their combos. Only class it isn't the best weapon for might be vanguard. Soldier sniper can be strong with more ammo per clip. We did silver with 3 level 1 and a level 4 without any major problems yesterday having 1 vanguard and the rest doing snipers on various classes. Those are the two things that are very strong right now. Other stuff works but isn't as strong. As long as you have good range damage and some way to stop the enemy melee from killing you it should be fine. Outlaw gold isn't extremely hard if you just want to farm that.

+1 human vanguard for silver (have not attempted gold). 6 charge, 6 nova you can make your own boom booms. 5 fitness = 20% shield restore on melee. You can faceroll anything that doesn't sync kill (lookin at you, Kett bubble boy).

Annihilation, take recharche speed instead of range. This will make it easier to prime targets repeatedly. Dmg on 5, and drain on 6. Throw: combo detonation on 6. Lance; on 4 take radius. On 5 it's preference. Offensive biotics - recharge, exposure. 5 max. Barrier > all def.
If I'm not mistaken 66556 is possible with card X, until you do get only lvl 2 in lance.

Every character build is strong for Silver and Gold. I've played all my gold as an Asari Adept level 1 and extracted on every single gold match except my first one. It's not about the build or the guns. It's about movement. If you camp in one place, you're going to die. The AI in Andromeda is really bad. Worst than ME3. Enemies will walk past you to go attack another teammate. If you're constantly moving, they will not be able to kill you. Figure out their movement patterns and use motion as a way to isolate them and pick them off one by one. Those who are focused on guns and builds will take longer to master the game. Those two will certainly help you finish a match quicker but are not necessary.

Mine's like this: 6 (a,a, 6 (a,a,a) - either armor or shields damage works, shields is probably better for kett and remnants, armor for outlaws 1 6 (b,a, - last evo is 20% CD reduction, for more better charging 6 (a,b, I think it was Kronner who said, remember the ABC of vanguarding: Always Be Charging. Charge gives you 30% melee damage, which on top of the 33% from a melee optimiser, the 30% from your passive and the whopping 75% from the Juggernaut Shield adds up to... a hell of a lot. This is what Mike Tyson would do if he was born in the 29th century. And like Tyson, the build is a one-trick pony. The idea is to walk (or jump) up to enemies and unload your Nova. This primes them for your Charge, and after the detonation you just start punching away, which hopefully will keep replenishing your shields until Charge is off CD (if it's not enough, barrier 6b will save your ass once every 10s) Rinse and repeat. Using your gun is only for targets like Observers which, by the way, are the bane of the build as apparently punching upwards is beyond this guy's mental capacity. Go forth and break some faces.

Human vanguard is an absolute beast on gold. You do need a decent weapon though. Other meta kits: Assdept, Kroguard, Avenger, any infiltrator.

I'll try it out on the male human vanguard I am doing after I maxed the female and a few other characters. Considered doing 6 in shockwave for a long range primer to then charge into instead of the shorter range nova?

Following is for GOLD: melee flying Asari Adept Angara Insurgent Infiltrators & Vanguards Turian Soldier Krogan Merc (see my thread) UR classes
Have not seen any Havocs in Gold at all though theoretically should be better than the Turian Soldier. No doubt has partly to do with mastery of maneuver for both shooting and melee
Common and Uncommon Engineers and Sentinels are ok though not much damage. The Asari Sentinel's max rank Backlash can wreck (slowly) with the right spec.
Keep in mind though that each character has to be levelled up individually, so we are also seeing what people want to play

It probably makes life easier when dealing with scumbag Observers, and HtH performance shouldn't take much of a hit. I'll try it on the female.

Easy gold.
Asari Adept whit maxed annihilation field for: Range, Unarmored/unshelded mooks been lifted ( effectivley taking them out of combat for good 10 seconds ), Good side arm ( Talon is amazing choice ), maxed out passive for biotics, rank 5 lance, rank 4 or 6 whit trow.
That build will make you a walking bomb and CC master. Jump+dash toward mooks, land, prime and bomb. Anything that survive would have lost its shields and will be floating helpless so you can just double tap whit the Talon.
Turian Soldier is solid choice for weapon focused character - but for him i really strongly recommend having the Vanquisher unlocked. Speck his Fortified for dmg reduction, max out survival passive and dont forget to get the evolution for dmg reduction in cover.
Proceed to find a good spot on higher ground or long corridor. Enjoy the duck hunting.
