What is the hip fire damage penalty?

I miss Peddro. He was the guy that used to make those calculations.

Subjects without armor and shields don't really matter though. They're killed fast enough with anything.

Give it some time, it's not even been a week. There's still so much we don't know (shotgun pellet count, reload times) but it'll be available soon.

In ME3 it was variable I think. It depended on the SR itself, for instance the Raptor had a very small penalty, and the Kishock had no penalty whatsoever (the only one I think). Generally speaking, the higher the damage of the weapon, the higher the penalty.
I still think it's bullshit, too gamey. The accuracy penalty should be enough already, if people want to hipfire a sniper, what's the problem? What's next ADS penalty for pistols? come on...

I'm fallowing Andromeda from a safe distance. Would do some tests but it doesn't seem to me like the game is worth the 60$ in its current state .. 

And even after the 60$: huge amounts of  mindless grinding to enable the kits/weapons/gear you're supposed to test ..  You're not gonna get those kind of answers from me in the near future .. 

I have no idea how that would work.

I have no control over whatever future anti-tampering protections Bioware might choose to implement to limit cheaters and thus no way to guarantee "return of investment" .. Even without any extra anti-tampering: the methods required for testing are on the edge of the EULA - could result in a suspended account..
The big amount of grinding involved might also put me of  (shooters not exactly my preferred game genre ..) . Might even need to invest a bit extra on the hardware to get it a bit above minimum specs ...

I will purchase the game once they lower the price a bit, if only for nostalgia's sake .. I'm sure there will be others to pick up the torch until then .
