I feel like 90% of the multiplayer guns don't do the damage they say they do. I have quite a good bit of guns now at a 2730 apex rating without buying packs. Ive tested every gun so far and every single shotgun feels worthless. I have a level 10 katana and on a full weapons damage setup character its sheet damage is 504. its takes its entire mag to kill targets on silver mode and I just don't understand why. I tested the Ruzad, the Disciple, the scatter, the Hesh, the N7 Piranha, and the N7 Crusader. all of them take an entire mag to kill things which doesnt make much since since they are the strongest guns in the game other then snipers. The other one I saw which is crazy to me are the ARs. The avenger is the obvious weakest rifle in the game which is fine but then as I unlocked more I noticed they were all no different then the avenger. the classic Mattock holds 16 rounds and was a pretty solid gun in the last game now it takes 16-20 rounds just to kill a normal enemy. the Strongest I have the Sandstorm 6 does 148 damage and in the main game thats a 3 shot kill on the weak guys on hardcore but in multiplayer it takes 15 rounds to kill one normal guy. Another crazy one is the N7 Soned the new Lmg style gun hold 150 a clip but takes around 90-100 point blank to kill someone. I just don't get the damage numbers at all and its starting to get pretty old. Most multiplayer matches on gold have become the sniper meta where everybody sits at one spot with the vanquisher or the lanat and just camp and kill until the end. The multiplayer is what I play this for and it feels pretty out of whack at the moment compared to Mass effect 3 when I could use any gun in the game on gold and higher do fine.

It's all speculation until we know what health and dr modifiers are in exactidude, until then just leave your mic open and scream a lot or have porn in the background for greatest team synergy, or alternately keep telling the n00bs to get back in your hugbox so you can camp like the pros on the twitches and touyubes.

I have a completely anecdotal theory about the damage right now.
That is, that the damage formula has a flat point reduction per shot thereby severely screwing up guns that have lower base damages.
IE, an enemy might get a 20 damage reduction per hit, causing 40 damage assault rifles to lose 50% effectiveness, but sniper rifles would lose maybe 5%.
This causes high damage-per-shot guns to be really effective.
Sniper meta is real. I'm really surprised by the high rate of fire of sniper rifles in this game.
I mean, other guns are decent and get the job done, but even strong weapons like N7 Hurricane take a lot longer to kill something than sniper rifles.

That is how armor worked in ME3, it was a flat reduction per shot varying by difficulty. And until data says otherwise is probably how it works in Andromeda as well.

Likewise, enemy shield gates might need to be tweaked. It doesn't look like there is one on silver. No clue about gold yet. But they're one way that snipers get balanced with high rof weapons.

I'm fairly certain there's also literally random damage, not affected by the debuff or buff fields. I've literally one shot Observers with a Vanquisher V on gold, or had to pump five rounds into them, where the first shot is a cloaked 'eye' hit.
I have a feeling that until you get the gun to X, it actually does a range of damage along its values.
Or Manveer fucked up the damage calculation again before he left. (In addition to being a butt on twitter, he's the guy responsible for warp glitch)

Whats funny to is im using overload right now and buffed it to take enemy shields as much as possible and a lvl 1 overload takes the same as a maxed out one with 200% more shield drain.
