We just couldn't be bothered to give a shit to see if you could make your own game and have any players put in any extra slots at any time.
We thought it added an extra dimension to the game to specifically pick an APEX mission to play, but sometimes you just get put into a normal game. Adds variety.
It was smart to just make bland guns with no personality. With the removal of fan favorites we could focus on testing more importanter stuff. Like having your sniping consist more of reload animations than shooting!
