Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Baldur's Gate

This is what, as a hater of the game, I want to happen. Because then the series will either die - and I won't have to see a series I love continue to get butchered, or EA and Bioware will spend more time and money on the next game, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH DA2 -> Inquisition.
I hope the latter happens. If you feel Mass Effect is being "butchered" and do not want to see that then why don't you just, you know, stop watching? Don't pay attention to anything in regards to it? Let it go and keep to the forums for the other games? Why not do this instead of hoping other people won't be able to enjoy more games that they love of a series that they love as well? That's what I did with Saints Row. Wanting a series to die just because you personally don't enjoy it anymore is just selfish, to be honest, especially when a lot of people still enjoy it. Read the whole comment before you post. I don't want the series to die, I want Bioware and EA to get their shit together and make sure there is no reason for dissent with the next game in the series. They won't bother if people are content to buy a mediocre effort on their part. At that point, they'll pull a DA:2, or worse, start releasing Mass Effect: 2018! All new rosters! Identical graphics! Exact same worlds! But it's 2018! They hope to sell 3 million in the first week. I hope they sell less than half of that, then maybe we can avoid Mass Effect: 2018 and get Mass Effect: 2021+ with an open world, excellent story, and amazing polish.

We'll agree to disagree. I think you're an outlier, and while I agree I shouldn't lump everyone in the same boat, I still think that players who have more of a history playing Bioware games will be the ones who are the most upset, because they've seen what Bioware has become. There's a reason why this game is hovering around the low 70's, after-all.[/quote]
Ironically I've actually seen more of the "new" players upset by Andromeda - players who liked the shooter side of things and liked the streamed down RPG mechanics of 2 & 3, who now dislike the inclusion of the deeper RPG elements.
You know I was kind of heartbroken with ME2 and 3, I saw them as a clear break away from their traditional RPG fanbase (including myself) towards a new target audience of predominantly shooter fans. I felt they were catering to their new audience at the expense of their old. Shooters have somewhat evolved over the past few years from being almost mindless combat based affairs to offering "RPG lite" options like skill points, choices, etc, as standard - smudging the lines a little. I tried not to get my hopes up with Andromeda because I was certain it pulled even further away from RPG land, and while I wanted to play it regardless, I was prepared for it to be even further away from ME1 and the sort of RPG I really enjoy.
Amazingly, I found that I loved the game! I actually replayed the first section three times and kept finding new things I had missed. Fantastic, optional, exploration and side quests, inventory (God, I love inventory!), a crafting system, new characters and a new focus on exploration and discovery rather than just fighting. I love driving round in the Nomad. I love the Tempest. I love the little details on the planets that make them really feel alive. I even like the scanning 🙈 So I don't pay much attention to the popular opinion, or the scores for the games, because ME2 and 3 rated higher than ME1 but ME1 was my absolute favourite by far, my own personal Babylon 5 haha.

Also if the game sells very badly EA are FAR more likely to just kill the franchise altogether and then we will never see another Mass Effect. No one has deliberately made the game "bad", the devs and the publisher and most of the fans all want it to be good and a success. Trolling the game animations became a viral trend and set the tone for all the reviews to focus on the bad aspects. It's a damn shame in my opinion.

WTH!!! This game is pretty good almost like DA:I, Maybe even Better(except for those Dragons). I cant blv this has a rating lower than 5.0. Look, I get that you like DAI, but get your fucking DAI out of my ME. The original trilogy stood toe-to-toe with Star Wars. Way to make the prequels look good. Go team.

The funny thing with this game is apparently, if you don't like it you fucking hate it. I mean review scores from professionals are all over the place, highest is like 95 and lowest is something like 40 on one of the consoles. But if you go on reddit there's little to no negativity about the game, which i rarely see. A lot of "i don't get why people hate this game, it's great" posts too. Also besides all the legit reasons people may have for disliking it, there are the anti-bioware nutjob crowd that seems to have it in for them. As soon they were able, they were on there giving it 0's claiming SJW's had ruined another game, that you can't create a white character, that Liam sounds like Tupac and all sorts of ridiculous nonsense. And then there's the fact that it's metacritic, and like YouTube commenters more than half of the people who bother don't have a higher IQ than the score they put it. If I had to guess, the younger the player, the more you'll like this game. The dialogue and plot is very twitter-esque. On par with text messages people send on phones, or fan-fiction in general. Love the game and don't see what all the hate is about = 25 and under. Skewing lower in age for people that LOVE it. The more post-secondary education you have, the more you'll dislike this game because you'll see just how poor the writing is. Anyone older than that, or old enough to have played Bioware games like BG and Neverwinter, I'd wager they're the ones that hate the game - because they've seen what Bioware was capable of before EA came along. Lol. I'm 30 years old. I have been playing games since I was 3 years old. I have played pretty much everything Bioware has released except Jade Empire and KOTOR. I loved DA:I. I love ME:A. And I cried a little when I replayed Baldur's Gate a while back. That game definetly wasn't as good as my memory made me think it was.

LOL Thing is that's what was asked for and that is what we got. Sorry you don't like it but to a lot of us it's fantastic. Stay tuned for the new IP it will probably be more like traditional Bioware games. Maybe... To the person that is bringing age into it and insulting a generation. I'm 37......... I love DAI ans ME and basically all Bioware games except Sonic... It's okay to like different styles for different reasons.

I'll never buy anything from BioWare again until it's been properly vetted. Very truthfully, I have to ask. Why aren't you playing SW:TOR? If pointless fetch quests and bland and predictable story are your thing?
