I'm not too far into game, only heading for the second planet, but I've noticed that for some reason many of the craft\reserach\vendor armors I've seen have N7 slapped on the chest. In ME1 Shep was the only one with the 'N7 onyx'. It's been told many times about how this is a big deal, and how it's a privelege to wear this insignia. There's Conrad Verner, of course, but that's not the case. Obviously none of the Ryders Jr are eligible for that 'honor', and I'm having a hard time imagining them (of all people) wearing it casually. Well, may be it would make sense for some RP cases, but not for me. For now I stuck with the default set + got kett arms from the drop. I don't have any bonus gear (preorder, deluxe etc). Is there anything good for the bio\tech spec (something between the engineer and sentinel)? Where\how soon can I get it?

Hyperguardian gear is purely defensive, you can use it for all kinds of character builds. It is cheap to craft and looks really good (C8 designation instead of N7). Uses Milky Way Research Credits, you can easily offset the cost by spending one Cryo Perk on Science Pods - Lab Technicians (good perk in any case). Drawback is the missing offensive stats.
For later in the game you can use the Heleus Armor, one of the best armors in the game, no visible markings of any kind.

I went with the 'Pathfinder Scout' armour. It's pretty much the standard Pathfinder N7 armour, but with extra pieces, including a chest piece that covers up the N7 logo.

I think tying Mass Effect to the N7 designation was a mistake, because the only N7 I'm interested in is Shepard, and her story is apparently over. Sometimes I wonder if they had an excess of N7 hoodies in the Bioware store and after ME3 they were like "Well, how are we going to get rid of these now? I know, we'll make the next protagonist wear N7 armor too!"
They should let Ryder be Ryder and not put N7 baggage on her, IMO. Leave that in the Milky Way.
And I'm not dissing N7 hoodies. My Ladies MK II is really comfortable.

You can get various sets, typically it goes like this (going by memory); Maverick ; Spare ammo / Weak point damage N7 ; Bionics Angaran; Tech damage and recharge Kett; Weapon damage + Combat power Remnant; damage resistance and shield/Health regen I'll update it next time I'm in the Tempest.

Yeah, this, my thouhgs exactly. First they tell us how 'it's all the different story' and 'you're not N7', then we get a random N7 person on the cover, posing under pathetic 'burning planet' scenery, and now we've got the N7 gear for the PC. ...Because it makes sense, right?... N7, the special training that has nothing to do with biotics. It's like they used RNG to assign the set bonuses.

I'd say that it wouild take the fucking lot of 'refitting' to match sisRyder's curves and small height, N7 sticker is probably the only thing that's going to be left from that original chestpiece.
I'm not going to discuss the RP\context here because we're on spoiler-free territory, but for me it makes zero sense. And I assume that huge number of 'Ryders' would consider it a bad idea too.

OP - the angaran armors have some nice tech bonuses.

Still not as annoying as getting Cerebrus stuff in ME3 when we were at war with them. But yeah I don't have Ryder wearing N7 stuff.

By that logic, Dad Ryder shouldn't wear the N7 insignia either, since he was dishonorably discharged from the Alliance. Considering Ryder's ability to save the day, since pretty much everything is a clusterfuck in Heleus, and their combat skills, I'd say N7 is not far fetched at all. I, for one, won't have any problem using it.

Remnant set all the way. P.S. BW forget to put level requirement for this set, so you made the highest lv(XI something) in early game and be like a boss.
