The thing that's been incredibly jarring to me, and probably much more than it should be, is that the Salarians are blinking wrong. They're supposed to blink with their lower lids instead of their upper lids, and it's throwing me off. I'm not sure what's causing this kind of constraint, but that's not how Salarians work. Please tag spoilers in the non-spoiler forum.

The answer is probably no but does BW even read these forums? They do. The lead designer for Andromeda, Ian Frazier is here from time to time, he even posts.

It's a B-team effort with a different art director, and it shows. You can complain however much you want but you have to remember Derek Watts made the art for all of ME1, 2 and 3 (excluding some DLC) and this is the first game to put Joel Macmillan on the helm. He had to make Andromeda concept designs for armor, aliens, humans and figure out the anatomy and estimates. Compare the concept art to get a sense of what happened here: ME1-3: Derek Watts MEA: Joel Mac You can tell there was a shift in artstyle that has undoubtedly affected the 3D modeling and proportions.

You can tell there was a shift in artstyle that has undoubtedly affected the 3D modeling and proportions. I don't know, it could be a contribruting factor, but they should have had access to all of the previous art, sort of an "art-bible" that would give them enough information to go forward and still make the game feel like it belongs in the Mass Effect universe. And I do think they managed to do that. I feel like it was more of an issue of very messy development and one-sided allocation of resources. The worlds might look beautiful, the combat and multiplayer maybe fun, but somewhere between that they forgot the NPCs and how they are designed and animate, or just didn't have the time for them anymore.

I think Salarians were more varied in ME1 than all the other games...
