All this talk of naming your character "Dick" Ryder is low hanging fruit folks. You've gotta step it up a notch and give your character a name that gets the point across, yet still seems almost classy. I propose to you, "Lance" Ryder. You're welcome.

Although, for really reals, I'll probably just name my Male Ryder "Zor", and my Fem Ryder "Rommie", from Robotech and Andromeda respectively.

For a gal, probably Valentina Ryder (the first lady cosmonaut in space,) with Sally being a close second.

For a guy, probably Alexei or Alex, named after the first man to walk in space. I've always been partial to the name myself.
