Hi, I purchased a 2nd strike team and it has "-10 effectiveness during poor weather conditions", while the original team has no negative traits. I thought if I levelled them up a bit it would disappear, but it still hasn't.
Is that permanent? Do all purchased Strike Teams have negative traits? Is it a gamble? It's a bit annoying when games are vague like that. If it wasn't tied to a server, I'd buy another one to test it, but I do not wish to waste any more mission funds on more "ill-prepared" teams.
I tried Googling this but I found absolutely NOTHING about strike teams...

I'm pretty sure it's permanent. Which is interesting because I have three Strike Teams, and the two I purchased came with +5 positive traits. Both negative and positive traits can be acquired when sending the teams on missions as well. You can retire the team and purchase another one once you have the funds, but I'd suggest just use them on Bronze missions for a while and try to have them level up and earn positive traits.

It really doesn't end up mattering. Well they seems to be failing significantly more than the original team, and I try and keep them both at the same level / send them to missions with similar success %. Maybe it's just a confidence but I wish they'd tell you before buying "Oh a new strike team may be permanently-crippled"...

You're still reading too much into it, I have 3 teams, they either fail or don't pretty randomly in general, I have 70 boxes waiting for me in single player and mission funds are basically handed out. If you're really bothered by their lack of RNG success you can save up to buy the equipment later on. The way the system is set up it really isn't worth Min-maxing your teams because there really isnt much to do with the funds to begin with. I just send my 3 teams out and whatever happens happens, either way I have free single player materials and money flooding in and mission funds that so far don't serve much purpose. I already have the two available equipment items in the game. All I'm saying is dont put that much thought into it because it absolutely isn't worth your time, just send them out and be done with it, you'll end up with plenty of rewards.

It will drop you small percentage down from success rates.
So if you have Kett Hysteria and the enemy is Kett, you success rate for your team would drop 10% (if they are high enough level on a Bronze mission from 90% to 80%).
It can be overcome with other mods added to the positive traits.
I believe the only way to get rid of it is to disband the team and recruit an new one.

Does anyone know if it maxes out at three negative traits, or can they keep stacking up? If it caps at 3, then I am going to start suicide attempting the strike teams on gold. I figure a 7% chance of victory is better then nothing, at least they gain xp.

I figure a 7% chance of victory is better then nothing, at least they gain xp. In another thread somebody claims to have 4, and 5 positives. It is assumed you can have 5 of each. I would still "suicide" on gold. I've gotten plenty of gold wins at 17-20%, rng is rng.
