As we all know the Krogan was suffering from a genophage that made reproduction for them kind of slow. They were nearing extinction in the Trilogy because of it. They people of Andromeda Initiative left before Mass Effect 3. This means that the Krogan in Andromeda still suffer from the Genophage. This Krogan, Kesh, tells how they are fairing in Andromeda with the Genophage and what theyre doing to cope with it.

They weren't actually suffering extinction, it's just they were explosive breeders and lived forever so they could keep breeding.
But yes, the clan was adapting to the genophage so they now have 40x the fertility they used to.
Which is a lot better.

I was thinking since they were having so many stillbirths they would be nearing extinction soon. Thanks for the clarity

Thanks for the clarity They were in a crappy situation but that was partially because the Krogan were also all getting themselves killed in constant war which Mordin's assistant said was because most Krogan would never have a family or a chance to breed. Kind of a specious argument.

From what i got the birth rates just very slightly improved, nowhere near 100%
Though i am not sure if you would want Krogans on an 100% birth rate for the simple reason that breed very very fast apparently without genophage.
Though i have a lot more faith in the Heleus Krogan than the milky way ones including wrex. I have met so many friendly, polite and nice Krogan i was surprised, guess Andromeda did screen krogans more efficiently than everyone else.a

It's 4%, not 100%.
Also, the Krogan have been awake the entire time and spent that time studying and improving their tech knowledge.
They were the engineers on the Nexus.

What arguments exactly? I cant say i like Morda either, i wish we could have been able to replace her because she doesnt seem to be that friendly or positive. It was the opposite for me, i didnt put much faith in the Krogan due to milky way experiences but in Andromeda and in New Tuchanka there are multiple Krogan who are friendly and polite when they talk to you, it isnt just 1-2 extreme cases like in the milky way so i hope this time it ll be different.

"It was my remnant ship and this is my core, give it to me or we are enemies forever!" *sigh* You guys, remember your history pretty well, yet fail to make right conclusion every time. Makes me want to say "go on, declare the war on Nexus, fight with thousand of krogans against 50k of people and see how it ends. Or you can just ask that old spiky guy out there on what happened, when you did it last time." Well, yeah, it's noticeable, but they nowhere close to being in charge.

Yeah true, she is very demanding and bossy which i definitely dont like, maybe it is just that way because she was fucked by the initiative at the start, the 2nd game will tell us if this has changed or if she is simply just like that.a And true they might not be close to power but that other Krogan was trying to challenge Morda through cunning instead of strength so thinks are definitely changing. Only future will tell, but a bigger number of nice friendly Krogan not obsessed over strength and violence is a really good sign

I was thinking since they were having so many stillbirths they would be nearing extinction soon. Thanks for the clarity Low birth rate did not account for their dying off. Tbh, a race with a thousand year life span in no way needs to give birth to 1000 krogan in a shot - and that's per krogan female, not overall. It's unsustainable. However, the krogan had no hope when seeing the "piles of dead babies". (Or eggs? This part is unclear.) The result was in-fighting and going off-world to become mercenaries rather than something productive. The fighting and dying was what was killing them off. Also, I think the increase in birthrate in Andromeda is 4%, which is, as said above, 40x the 1% they had prior. In Andromeda, they will need more numbers but it's still not useful for them to have a near-100% rate of survival. They lack the resources to care for that many children.

They were asleep like everyone else. You can talk to a krogan (the one whose father said he was a salarian in a krogan body) who says he wish he could have been awake for the 600 year journey just for the views. Ryder mentions it would have been a lonely trip and the krogan says he wouldn't have been lonely because there would be so much to see. Besides, who in their right mind would trust the krogan to be the only ones awake for 600 years and rely on them not starting a fight and screwing everyone over? No one, that's who.

Anyone actually have the math on Krogan reproduction rates?
Kesh says 2 things Only 1 in 1000 survive birth=0.1% which would kill any live birth species Viability of 4% now
Which should mean that 40 survive every 1000.
If there was no genophage does that mean 100% or near 100% birth rates. Because by these numbers if krogan lay multiple eggs they could populate the entire galaxy in a few decades.

The real problem was that the salarians uplifted the krogan. Perhaps, had evolution taken its natural course, the amount of eggs lain would have decreased. The reason the clutches were so high was because pretty much everything on Tuchanka was deadly. Normally, few survived to adulthood because they were killed off. I believe that's typical in nature. I suppose it's possible that the genophage adjusted for evolutionary processes but it was done in a horrifying way.

I think the Salarians "uplifting" the Krogan is kind of their version of the White Man's Burden. They "uplifted" them by giving them space tech to fight the Rachni for them. I also note the Krogan were only getting more aggressive because of their conflicts on their homeworld due to the whole "nuclear war" thing. If they really wanted the Krogan to get over their problems, they should have worked on a cure for the Blood Rage. Contraception second.
