I love the ME universe. I have played all three multiple times with multiple characters, even with the ups and downs of the last three. That being said I cannot continue playing Andromeda as it is and I want to say why in hopes that somewhere, somehow, enough people agree with me and start a converstaion that Bioware hears about and either A) patches Andromeda or at least learns from this one and fixes the next. Otherwise I am done, which is really sad because as slow as Andromeda is it has a lot of potential. Love it or not it has an interesting premise set in a world I love. So why is every second in the game a slog that drives me nuts? This is not a complaint fest about animations, story, character models, squad ai, or some other issue many players are having (Which are all viable complaints). These are issues with the gameplay and the mechanics that make every second out of combat (which is great IMHO) an annoying, frustrating experience. It all came to a head for me when my wife, who is not a gamer but respects my hobby, looked at me and said, "Why are you playing that game when all it does is frustrate you?" And it is true, why am I suffering through annoyance when I do not have to? Game loyalty? Really? Not going to do it. I have better things to do with my time than be frustrated for hours and hours. So here is my list of some issues that are not already being talked about regularly by the public. 1. Bugs... 'nough said. 2. Not being able to change squad mates weapons. Sure they streamlined squads way more than I would like but at least I had some input before, no I have none. Thanks. 3. Scanning for research credits, a part in the game that should take 20 minutes takes 45 because I am sloooowly running a scanner over every aspect of this oversized world. 4. Crafting supplies are regulated to specific parts if the story only so I have to wait to craft a cool project I have unlocked even though the weapon armor system is tiered. 5. "Open world" - it is not an open world. Stop calling it that. You just made the mission sites too big to enjoy. I wont story and drama, not hours in between of looking for that story and drama. But most importantly and above all else for me: 6. The inventory system is downright horrible. With upgrades you get 65 slots which would be fine if all that counted was weapons and armor, except that isn't the case. Every mod and crafting material counts as well. I have 10 weapons 6 pieces of armor and the rest is a bunch of crap so that I could possibly build something cool later. Which might not be a big problem for some but as an RPG fan and OCD collector getting rid of a perfectly good weapon to make space is blasphemy. I am constantly at 60-65 spaces full and constantly having to sell or deconstruct something to make room. If Andromeda was a great game story than I could overlook most of this. Curiosity would overrule. But it isn't. Its just a decent game marred by horrible mechanics and a ton of bad design choices. Some great design choices too, that are completely overshadowed by the bad. Some of you wont agree and that is fine. Some of you are going to say "Shut and and be happy with what you got, I am, why aren't you?" Well, to them I say that if there are enough problems with a game you love that it actually makes you stop playing it and you never say anything, then you are just at fault as the game developers when the next one comes out and it worse than the last one. I am not angry, I am very very sad. More than likely this game is going to remain unfinished and I'll eventually delete it to make room for some new game. So for me this is kind of the death of a beloved franchise. If you disagree then I am glad you like it and I hope your get to enjoy what you love about it for a long time.

1. Bugs: Yes, there are some. I have found some hilarious ones (like spawning the Nomad in a Remnant vault) and some annoying ones, like enemies getting stuck in the floor, etc. Nothing game-breaking so far. It doesn't really bother me, though. When you play through Fallout 4, Skyrim, and TW3, you tend to get used to bugs.
2. I don't know why not being able to change squad weapons frustrates you. I can see it being a bummer, but it's not frustrating. They do well with the weapons they have, in my experience, and so I don't see the complaint as why it kills your want to play the game. I can see not having more control over their power-use, but lack of switching weapons seems...small. I just can't see it as frustrating.
3. Did you know that when you are near something that can be scanned, the button that you hit for the scanner (Down on the D-Pad for Xbox) lights up, indicating there is something to scan? Knowing this will save you a lot of time, apparently, so then you don't have to try to scan everything. Also, the scanning field is fairly deep, so when you pull it up spin 360 degrees. You should see everything in the room (and even next rooms depending on distance) that can be scanned. It takes like 3 seconds.
4. I haven't encountered this part specifically. I know you can buy crafting materials, as well as use your AVP points to open pods that will grant you materials every 45 minutes or so. Doing that might help decrease the amount of time you need to spend looking for materials. Also, if you download the Apex app to your phone and do the strike team missions, they will often give you a "materials crate" that has crafting stuff in it, so that might help you, as well.
5. If you don't like the "open world" then just go on with the main story arc, or the several arcs you are interested in. You don't have to do any of the side content at all. Just pick your main quests you want to do and do them.
6. Inventory: So, I'm pretty sure crafting materials don't count at all toward inventory spots. I think Mods do not count as well, but I could be wrong there. That's how it seemed to me. But crafting materials do not for sure.

The bugs are horrendous. The amount I have run into are just astounding. For a game that took 5 years and 40 million to make they should have used more for quality assurance testing.
I'm also not a fan of the inventory. At all.

And like I said before these are not game breaking issues. All of them combined make the game slow and tedious, a frustrating endeavor to say the least. For me at least. Most of the reviewers I have read seem to agree. Thank you for the helpful tips, though none of these were unknown to me. Why create a game that has so many issues that you have to put in workarounds to get around boring activities? Why don't you simply not create them in the first place. It seems to me that they had a ton of different departments all working on different aspects of the game and no communication. Then they just slapped it all together at the end and put band aids on all the major cracks.

All of those points are in fact accurate summary of some of the problems with the game. The inventory system is just legit awful. I don't even bother with saving things I deconstruct everything just craft what I need. Mods do count towards the inventory limit which does limit you for weapons. I honestly am half way through the game and I don't even have all of my weapons with mods in them for this reason. I've stopped trying to bother with it. Augmentations seems to do good enough.

Good points.
I disagree with crafting and scanning for resource points. Those systems are fine
But bugs? Too many.
Squad options? Too few.
The worlds? Decent in design, but filled with utter nonsense fetch quests.
Inventory? Completely. And. Utterly. Useless. System. Why even have inventory if you are only allowed to adjust loadouts at specific locations? Just awful design

3. Don't go around scanning everything, your scanner blinks when you're near stuff that can be scanned. I don't know why so many people think you need to have it out 24/7.
5. Andromeda isn't a true open world yes, but it is more open than mass effect has ever been, which I actually enjoy cuz NE2 and 3 took that away and narrowed down the maps to bland corridors. So I can't agree with you on this, it's exactly what I want mass effect to be but with more refinement to it.
Everything else I can agree with.
Only difference is I quite enjoy the game even with its flaws, the bad animations kind of ruin it at times, certain bugs get so annoying I have to reload saves to fix them, the list could go on. Sadly the games story isn't what I expected from a bioware/mass effect game but the combat and open world esq elements make up for it.

It sounds like pc gets the worst of it but even console has constant bugs, or at least I do. I've had npcs fall through geometry, duplicate crew mates, audio cut out, irrelevant audio that shouldn't even be occurring, getting stuck in objects, save points having issues, npcs just not even showing unless I restart the build, the list can go on. Multiplayer also has issues as well.

1. Bugs Personally have not encountered any game breaking bug. Animation glitches yes. One task not completing (only happens to Task for me) 2. Not being able to change Squadmate weapons Indifferent. Never bothered with them since ME1. They are just there to help detonate combos. 3. Scanning for research credit. I just scan 100 credit objects - they are recognizable visually. No need to scan the world mindlessly for little to no reward. I do scan to read description when I see something new but tis not for RD. 4. Crafting supply are regulated Really? Didnt even notice. Never had supply problems... 5. Open Word Agree. It is not Open World and the maps are just medium size to me... wish it was bigger with more puzzles and platforming ruins (Yeah I am a Tomb Raider / Zelda fan) *Did everyone find the hidden cache in the 1st EOS vault? I love moments like these. Dont get me wrong, I like story and narrative but I like exploration and gameplay too and I am greedy, I want both. 6. Inventory System Indifferent, works for me and I never run out of space.

I had a couple, like getting stuck in the conversation wheel or not being able to interface with remnant tech, but like I said easily fixed by reloading and they happened maybe 5 times in my 71h playthrough. Sorry for everyone who is stuck with those bugs, that sucks . I do have connection issues with multiplayer, so I haven't played in a while, not sure if that's still a thing.

I pretty much am done with the multiplayer unless they fix the peer to peer issues. I could play ME3 even though it used p2p, Andromeda is outright unplayable for me in multiplayer which is unfortunate, I really was looking forward to it, I can't even give a proper review of it since lag or constant disconnects won't even let me actually play it.
