The voice actors themselves have great voices and give it their best. I just want to clarify for everyone lurking out there (and sometimes I worry the voice actors read these forums, or things on the Internet in general), that the voice actors have awesome voices. It just seems like there was no Director who pulled them together and made scenes

Especially Jaal's voice actor. The other voice actors kinda tremble before him tbh

I agree. The professionals didn't need direction, but the others (because it makes sense) needed a lot of fine-tuning. Bioware knows talent. In this case, they just needed to help the amateur talent sound professional. I'm sorry, but a lot of it sounds like they used the first take.

I haven't listened to them extensively, but generally speaking, the right direction makes all the difference in the world.

I would be doing that instead of panicking if there was no way out, so I am not seeing the point.

Now he sounds like a giant crybaby. Kind of appropriate I guess to the way everyone is over reacting.

That is all subjective and not objective. The dialogue and story are a massive subjective divide here. I think the story and dialogue is good. I don't see any issues with it.

The story was ok for me but it had quite a bit of recycled elements... the dialogue on the other hand (especially the auto-dialogue) was average/ok at it's peak and almost embarrassing at its worst.

That has always been the case with ME games. I have kind of learned to embrace the cheese/cringe factor. Also side note, I am a brown coat.

The reason I can dig PeeBee, Cora, Vetra, 'Aza Ryder' Drack, Suvi...(I won't even keep going you've played it.)
Is because the VA managed to make the absolute most of what they were given.
I doubt they'd come here or have any idea what BSN even stands for.

I think several voice actors did well. Some were screwed over by the lack of expression, creating this dissonance in which could even make the VA seem bad. Then you have those that lack just as much emotion as the characters do facial expression. Krogan colony for instance, I don't recall their names, but the overlord's argument was void of most emotion, then the fight... I don't expect perfection, nor great performance from all the characters, especially minor ones. But that was embarrassing to watch and listen to.
Sometimes it's the presentation that screws it over, seen it in several games before. The lines thrown out there, but you have this delay in reaction to what was said, or sometimes just done. Making it feel clunky, and then making the VA delivery seem bad.

My issue is that a few of them don't sound like they are in the correct role. Sloane Kelly and that fucking female Krogan overlord on Elaaden are the biggest culprits for me. Two characters with supposedly fierce backgrounds and they sound like primary school teachers who have had their day ruined because one of the kids has left chewing gum on their seats. Aria felt genuine, female Shepard renegade felt genuinely threatening, even Nassana Dantius felt ruthless, these did not one bit.
That said I think it's worth pointing out that for me Kallo, Cora, Jaal and Scott Ryder have been fantastic and most of the rest are pretty good too.

I haven't played much of the campaign so far, the only voice actor I didn't think was so great was Gill's. He sounds like he's just reading off the lines instead of trying to voice the character.
Everyone else sounds great to me.

Most of the main cast does a very good job, yes. Especially the acress playing PeeBee. This character constantly hovers on the edge between annoying and invigorating. And PeeBee's actress makes sure it rarely veers into annoying. More often than not she lights up the dreary, hum-drum, paper mache script with her teenage hyperactivity.

I think the voice acting and writing in this game is on par with other ME titles.
If anyone thinks the the first three games were better written and acted, do your yourself a favor and jump back into ME1. You'll enjoy ME:A more after. The squadmates in ME1 barely had any personality at all, with the exception of Wrex and Ashley, and the game begins with the biggest plot hole of the entire series. Some of the acting wasn't great either. See Matriarch Benezia, for a reminder.

What plot hole?
I agree, Benezia was a little stilted, but the general push of the story arc helped push it over.
