Underwhelming Gay Romance Options In Mass Effect: Andromeda Disappoint Many Fans

ok OP Im not trying to be mean ok. but you realize these characters and there "romance's" are not real right IT'S A GAME. Im pretty sure there are better things to worry about. Im a straight male LGB rights supporter btw so im not anti gay.

I find it rediculous the way even games now try and shoe horn in modern agendas on sexuality in the name of equality...


Considering, if you regard the actual statistics, that homosexuality and bisexuality affect like 0.01% of the population, I'm constantly amazed why this is presented and pushed as such a 'big deal' ? Frankly I think this world faces more important issues.

I'd say racial inequality and lack of meaningful representation in popular media is a far more jarring and indeed a more valid concern to be addressed as it affects a great many people.

I also think sex/romance in a video game homosexual or otherwise, where you spend half the time shooting things (or rather scanning things!) is such a non issue...

Not just that but apparently there was again more hate for Cora. For what this time? Because apparently some people are upset that she isn't a gay/bisexual romance option. This same thing kinda happened with Cassandra how some fans were disappointed that she wasn't a gay romance option. (Though it seems she was originally going to be at one point but oh well) It's funny how Cora just can't ever catch a break.

Well, that's a real shame. But these people are free to find more LGBTQ friendly company and stop funding Bioware's homophobia.

My point was that the Issue of sexuality, specifically LGBT, are prioritised in popular media over other minorities, and in fact larger minorities with issues affecting more people's lives...

For example, being black in America - this population is far larger than the LGBT population put together - and yet racial inequality is not championed or highlighted in pop media in the same way the Gay agenda is, even though it affects far less people.

I'd call that an inequality!

The mass effect universe is filled with Bisexual women but having more than a couple of gay/bi men or lesbians in the entire series is unrealistic I guess.

Priorities are all messed up.
Everyone's easily insulted, everyone's that one special snowflake, everyone must be represented....all while games are becoming more and more generic and uninspired due to "my character's not a vegan, i must protest" attitude.

Jokes aside, it isn't a competition and anyone from either minority that tries to throw the other under the bus is doing both a disservice.

As for Bioware, they can make the game they want and if that means not creating substantial content for their gay male audience, then so be it. What they don't get to do is hold themselves up as the standard-bearer for inclusive and progressive gaming. They can't have their cake and eat it too.

All politics aside, after playing this game in its entirety, I'm just left feeling sad, ignored and empty. Like everyone else was invited to the party and while they're busy sipping champagne, I'm on the porch drinking dishwater from a plastic cup. I'm not paying to feel that way again. I'm not even sure what Bioware can do about it. I'm not sure they even care but are rather just waiting for us to shut up.

I'll make them a deal: They stop bleating on about how important we are as customers and how diversity in gaming is one of the core principles of their company and I'll take my dishwater in a plastic cup and go home.
