I was thinking of ME1 where we steal the Normandy with Andersons help. No chance to punch Udina in the face this time though honestly don't like what they did with Udina...turning him into an actual villain.
I thought he was a better character when he was a complete douche...but not actually throwing in with the villains.

Oh, he was a villain before ME3 (if you are revering to the coup he tried on the Citadel), I actually thought that he had learned something at the start of ME3 (after Mars) when you meet him in his office...sadly he didn't (It was satisfying to shoot him and be able to do so WITHOUT having to kill Kaidan! Yep my VS is Kaidan - a biotic is more useful than a soldier (the former you find everywhere, the later are still pretty rare!) and I didn't like her attitude (she wasn't exactly wrong, but I was trying to build trust here and her constantly undermining that wasn't what I like!))

ps: Yeah, I thought of the Normandy, too at first - but Kirk of course works as well (or Picard in "Insurrection" where he ignored Federation Command and an Admiral's direct order to do what he thinks is right (note: I believe he is wrong, it's not like those few immortal people couldn't have been re-settled into a kind of "reservation" (not like the Indian ones in the US - a mean if that planet is a medical center there's surely a continent or two that the Federation does NOT occupy, so those immortals can live in peace!)...and it's a kind of "thousands for the lives of a few" decision (and it's not as if their lives wouldn't be ok on "my" reservation!)..."For the greater good!" (yeah, sorry for quoting Dumbledore here!))

It does pose a problem from an organization perspective.
All the pathfinders technically went rogue, and this time they were right. What happens next time they go rogue, and they are wrong? If Tann isn't seen as fit to lead, then why does he get to stay? It's a civilian undertaking, so replacements could be done quite easily. Tann doesn't strike me as a great visionary, which is what a C-level Executive should be.
It likely springs from his previous, and likely, intended position as accountant. Mindset wise it's all about the numbers it seems.

Mindset wise it's all about the numbers it seems. 100% agreed here. Taan's a bureaucrat. He more or less says so himself in one conversation. His "play it by the rules and take no risks" mindset is a result of his former position as 8th in command. He's not suited for leadership but he's a genius with red tape. Either to obstruct someone with it to aid someone as well. But I get the feeling that now that's he'#s had a taste of power he won't let go of it easily. Our last convo regarding a new council seemed to imply as much. |
