MEA - Maybe it'll move but right now it goes at the top. Despite its flaws I've enjoyed it immensely so far. Haven't completed it yet but story so far is good and so are the characters, gameplay is great.
ME3 - There are days where ME2 will be in this spot, they are very close to each other, I will put ME3 first though because of the improvements mad to the gameplay and the addition of multiplayer.
ME2 - I love the characters in this game, unfortunately that isn't quite good enough. The story does next to nothing for the trilogy as a whole, its a giant sidequest. While I like the changes to powers compared to ME1 the limited weapon selection really hurts the gameplay.
ME1 - As much as I love the story I simply can't stand the combat or the inventory/equipment parts any more, it has not aged well.

ME2 - Still one of my all time favourite games, despite its flaws. Great atmosphere, polish, combat and characters. One of the most solid games ever made by Bioware.
ME - The story saves it, but i absolutely hate the combat system, inventory system and characters are pretty bland. Yes we get to know them for 2 more games, which helps.
ME:A - Best combat system of the series, decent characters, and a decent main story. It certainly has issues, but i had a lot of fun with it and i want to play more.
ME3 - Starchild! Yes i like parts of Mass Effect 3, but the good always gets dragged down by the bad, i can't rate it higher even though it produces some of the series best moments.

People putting Andromeda above ME1 and ME2.... Again Madflavor that is the thing with video games, movies, books what have you. It is totally subjective, even though some things are objectively better in certain aspects. Like me - I can't stand The Godfather - I think its a slog, and one of the most boring movies i've seen. Well the world certainly disagrees with me, because its one of the top rated movies of all time on IMDB. There is no right or wrong answer. People get different enjoyment out of different things.

ME1>Andromeda>ME3>ME2
Nothing has ever drawn me in quite as much as ME1 did, before or since - there was a sense of mystery and wonder there that's missing in the next two. Andromeda makes a valiant effort to recapture it though, and despite its many flaws has some great combat, beautiful environments, a better protagonist and some pretty damn good characters. ME3 was a bit of a narrative mess, ranging from very good to very bad, but somehow is still the most replayable of the trilogy for me. ME2...is good, but the story is simply nonexistant. People like to argue that the characters are the story, but 12 different flavors of daddy issues and a cast that doesn't interact with each other AT ALL is not enough to cover for it. It's a good game, but its sheer irrelevance to the trilogy sinks it to the bottom spot for me.

It seems the pattern I am noticing here, among people who like Mass Effect Andromeda anyways, is that they either universally also like Mass Effect 1...hence they like exploration...or ME 2.... which was more character focused.

ME 3 for instance had a story that was let down by the endins, imo the weakest cast of the three games (despite having James Vega and Garrus in it, two of my three favorite companions from the trilogy), and the butching of the dialog system...but my god it was fun to play.

People putting Andromeda above ME1 and ME2.... The only area where ME1 is superior to ME:A is character animations. The combat portions of ME:1 were bad even by 2007 standards, and the original game was not that well written. It only gets elevated to being a masterpiece among fans purely because of nostalgia. The game's plot completely unravels in the first 15 minutes and most of the companion characters lacked personality. Exploration was also completely dull. While Andromeda has its dull stretches in the open world as well, there is a lot more to do than on ME1's uncharted planets, and the planets in ME:A look better and aren't procedurally generated.

Yeah, I like Andromeda as much as I do because it scratches both of those itches for me. Some mystery, exploration and space porn, AND some character focus, without basing the entire thing around 12 character's daddy issues. I had more fun on Liam's loyalty mission than I did pretty much every ME2 one combined.

ME1 - The best ME Game, really good Story, Charakters, Missions and atmospheric sceenerie MEA - real good Story and Characters, beautiful Landscapes, Missions are not top notch but filling some gaps and telling you something about Andromeda. ME3 - Good Characters, some really good Stroypoints but also some bad, atmospheric graphics. . . . . . ME2 - Good Characters thats all for this Tunnelshooter, Doom has more RPG in it than this pile of shit. Really the story is shit o_O the whole Galaxy knows what cerberus does but all willingly join with an smile on the face working for the reason the humankind overhelming all other volks in the galaxy, the only person not joining is the person you made loveydovey to in ME1. This game is so fucked up and the community hails it as the God given game.
I think most people here are lying to themselfs.

ME2>ME3>ME1>ME:A
ME2: Sidequest the game. Good main missions, maybe a bit too many loyalty missions, stupig mining(thank god for gibbed's save editor) ME3: best combat, good multi. Bad main story full of clichés. DLC's are fun tough. ME1: Best story, but combat is really bad.
ME:A After 2nd planet can't even be arsed to continoue the campaign coz its so boring. Uninteresting story, uninteresting characters, uninteresting and very repetitive missions, tons of hours must be spent in the mako only to travel from point A to point B. Stupid savegame system. Terrible multiplayer compared to ME3. I'd ask my money back if i could.

At the top it's ME2. While having some flaws, it was still so well done and I loved the companions this time around the most. Atmosphere, setting, choice impact and particular music scores on point. The DLCs were also very enjoyable, with Lair of the Shadow Broker being in a league of its own.
ME3, close to tied with ME:A. What saved ME3 for me was hands down the DLCs, followed by Krogan and Quarian storyline and the music score. The piss-poor handling of certain romances along with the overall tone of the game and the ending choices pushes it down. I suppose there's also a good chunk of nostalgia attached to it because of the companions that lands it in second, but I suspect ME:A will overtake the spot soon enough regardless.
ME:A does have flaws, but I'm already on a NG+ after 90% completion and I enjoyed the story and I didn't feel jarred out of immersion by any of the issues all that much. You learn to overlook it. The combat in ME:A is by far the most enjoyable and I enjoy the character development of both Ryder and companions. The planets are beautiful. That said, the music score was okay but it's nothing special and has no tracks that really grab my attention like ME3 to make certain scenes especially memorable. Story and quests aren't top notch, but still good and with DLCs I know it will rank above ME3.
ME1 is ok. I played it only to get the full continuation of saved decisions through the trilogy. The exploration of planets got old really quickly and the mako was beyond terrible. It wasn't really that memorable to me, didn't get attached to the companions that much and the combat was annoying. The story was very solid and good, but all the other elements lands it at the bottom.

I'd 'just' put MEA over ME3 due to the ME3 ending. Great DLC could cement that marginal decision at the moment.

1 - ME3/MEA 2 - ME1 3 - ME2 I seriously dont understand the appeal of ME2 ME2 has so many people to bang! Miranda and Jack doing nacked mud wrestling Jack The suicide mission being more than top notch Allowed to be an ass to Jacob Through romance and or loyalty missions you had an impact on every squadmate's personality and future Some way to die doing sex asari style Throwing people through windows Thane JACK A handfull of tv/movie actors doing a great job Best intro in the ME series Jack.... Only thing ME2 did for me was make ME3 better (i played 3 before 2 then went back and played 2 then 3) ME2 felt like playing a popularity contest with like 3 or 4 main story missions.

ME3, ME2=MEA (for different reasons,) ME1. MEA's combat is the best in the series by far, the story is good but suffers from the shear size of the game and all the "busy work" that comes with such. The companion content and loyalty missions (especially Drack's) is damned good. I'm finding my second playthrough to be more enjoyable now that I know what to concentrate on and what to avoid in the open worlds. The game looks and runs exceptionally well with an i7-7700 processor and gtx1070 8gb card...very few bugs to speak of...which is impressive considering the size. I hate the Nomad...just about as much as the Mako, but at least I can use it for cover. I hate that there are too many clicks and animations that cannot be skipped hoping back and forth between worlds. Bio really needs to implement a planet to planet fast travel system.

People putting Andromeda above ME1 and ME2.... MEA is basically ME1 mixed with ME2. Not shocking at all. The problem is that it fails to mimic both those games strengths. It's a jack of all trades, mediocre at all.
