Miss right here. It's the Archon who went rogue, his orders are to mess up with organics, not look for some tech. And his superiors are not happy with that.

Holy crap you are right.  Also yea they are nothing like the Reapers.  The Reapers are tying to prevent organics from being wiped out by synthetics.  Kett are trying to turn everything in Andromeda into Kett.

Kett believe in controlled reproduction where only the very best of a race is passed on through genes. They've been manufacturing their reproduction for so long that they don't even have the means of natural reproduction anymore. The Reapers were different. They assimilated everything, either to be used as a tool or to add to their mission. For the Kett, their mission is enlightenment -- they believe that they are doing you a favor. Those who become Kett are honored. To the Kett, they are not slaves -- after all, why would they just throw those deemed unfit into work camps?

They're different, and similar; but I think ultimately that the Kett are the more interesting application. Remember that the Archon is an outlier and that as a species, their goal is conquest and reproduction. His obsession with the Remnant was deemed problematic by many within his own ranks.

Maybe they are - remember: They "seduced" the Angara into letting their guard down (maybe it truly is only the Archon and his faction that prefer outrigt aggression? They could still be conquerors but not the way we think, more like say the Romans with a side dish of making people who surrender to them into more Kett?) and despite the fact that the Archon seems to have a fleet (not even an overly large one!) they might not have all that large a military (I mean the Archon was over all quite easily defeated and he didn't have the numbers to truly stand up to a few thousand poorly armed colonists and one elite team of fighters (I mean most of the A.I. is still in fucking stasis, there's only a few thousand people out...those that were on the Nexus and a very very very few who were/are on the Arks!)

I don't think they have much in common with the Reapers, they may be a missled brainwashed cult of a society, but they aren't cyclically wiping out Andromedans I think!
