Holy holy holy **886soksa**sfhla*** that ending was EPIC!!! IMO, the best ending to a Bioware game -- and, yes, it edged out ME2's Suicide Mission. Miles better than Inquisition.
I was expecting an okay ending -- especially as the Movie Night sidequest was underwhelming (while not bad. it was alright. it was good but...you build it up so much that it just has to be grand.) Citadel's party >>>>>>> Tempest's movie night. JUST SAYING.
I saved the last priority mission as the very last thing to do (barring an interview with the documentarist) and...goddamn it, I was driving and then, is that Tiran Kandros on the radio? What is he doing here? And then Evfra's here? And Reyes Vidal? And Eos colonists and the Krogan scouts and the Asari pathfinder put up a bubble to save Captain Dunn and even goddamn Kalinda was there -- why? I don't know! -- and the Moshae was there and the Salarian pathfinder had a nice smirk. Like, I have...I have no words. Perfect. PERFECT. The only thing that made it better? THE ENTIRE FREAKING SQUAD SHOWING UP AT THE LAST BATTLE. That's it! THAT'S IT!!!
ME2's suicide mission was intimate as it was about a squad of 13 infiltrating the collector base. And that's great for what it was. But Andromeda's ending is what ME3's ending SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Gathering allies so they can fight beside us. Yeeees, in Andromeda, a lot of it was minor, a lot cosmetic and honestly some just in cutscenes or in radio chatter. But by damn, it expands the scale so much. I sometimes pause and stop fighting just so I can hear who's joining the fray now.
A lot of people say that you should finish the main story and then focus on clean-up. I DISAGREE. Do all clean-ups as you will get more allies to join in on the final mission. It just makes it more grand.
Whew. I finished playing the game now. More than a hundred hours sinked in, Scott Ryder at level 70, and now going to do a NG+ for Sara Ryder.
I have problems with the game, just like everyone. Far from perfect. A flawed product.
But damn it, I love this game so much.

The ending was good. I wouldn't say it was as good as the suicide mission, but I'll admit it comes fairly close. It certainly makes it feel like all the side-quests and loyalty missions have some sort of an impact, unlike ME3s ending.
Plus I'm a sucker for anytime a ship crash-lands.

When we set our expectations low, that does tend to happen. Even I was surprised. And I liked it too.

I liked it, too (sure it still has inconsistencies - for example: How can the fucking Archon (no matter how powerful he is!) just walk onto the Nexus and fucking STEAL A DOCKED ARK? I know the Nexus isn't armed, but it has a militia and it surely has arms lockers all over (especially after the uprising) in order to arm people to put up a fight against anybody trying to invade (the leadership needs to have been concerned about returning Exiles IMHO and they would have prepared to fight them off - same for returning and angry Krogan (!)) - but then again, my expectations for the ending were low!)
greetings LAX ps: I hate AVITUS (!) - damned fucking ex-SPECTRE talked me out of making him Turian pathfinder and now Captain Dunn is dead...damned fucking drunk (be glad I can't kill you!)

Yup it was AMAZING loved every minute of it... and the way afterwards where you get to touch base with everyone is the mark of a truly well developed RPG!
Fantastic work to the Bioware team!

PS: There's a scene if you manage to recruit three other pathfinders. Just a nice little addition. Unfortunately, it's either Avitus or naught for the Turians. Avi is also...kind of whiny. Talking to him in pathfinder HQ, you find out he was given counselling sessions for grief management but he has yet to show for a session. Like WTF, dude, we're waging a war, we don't need your abandonment loss issues, just talk to a shrink, but he refuses. My Ryder offered to talk to him and he declined -- again not sure why

I kinda like ME1's ending more than Suicide mission and this ending wasn't better than Suicide mission either but it's definitely one of the good ones. I think what hampers it is that the story itself is not good at all and endings always work as a biproduct of their story (unless they simply don't work (ME3)) so as epic as it was and as much as they did what they could to make the ludonarrative and companion interactions pay off it just felt like an ending to a story that never even took off.
I could imagine if you replaced the bulk of the game with something else it would really pay off because the ending, from the final time you're on the tempest and all the way to the end itself is pretty good.

Yup great ending to a fabulous game. Wait... She dead?! I think she alive at the end... Maybe I remember wrong. She'll die if you don't have all the Pathfinders with you in the final mission. There is no replacement for Avitus. People are talking about Cpt Dunne being dead I was sort unsure since I recall her surviving the crash but this explains it. I ensured that Avitus was made Pathfinder.
