So in Multiplayer, I unlocked the Sidewinder I fairly early on. It's been a go-to sidearm for my kits since it seems to pack a punch despite being pretty light.
So in my single player game, I research and craft a Sidewinder III. I'm excited to use my new hand canon and engage an Observer. To my surprise, it's like I'm shooting the observer with spit balls and take out maybe 50% of it's shields with one clip.
In MP, I can usually kill an Observer with a full clip, depending on headshots, etc.
Is there some discrepancy between weapon damage/behavior in MP vs SP? or do MP kits have some base weapon damage bonus that Ryder doesn't get unless you spend extra skill points?

This is has been a constant thing. Different teams do each mode and they have different takes on what the weapons are "supposed" to do.

I noticed that most things in SP seem to be balanced around being trash until you've gotten enough passives and profile passives to boost them up. At least if you're playing on a higher difficulty.
While in MP, the guns just all start boosted.
The difference in my Widow's damage of equal rank was ~1200 in MP vs 495 in SP.

Then there is P.A.W. I couldn't even kill a Gold Raider standing still with headshot before the gun overheats.

This is has been a constant thing. Different teams do each mode and they have different takes on what the weapons are "supposed" to do. The only exception to this, amusingly enough, is the Vanquisher.
