It feels pretty much like that to me. Sometimes it takes me 3 shots to the head to kill a Gold Raider while other times it takes only 1 shot.

It is because you are off host. I noticed that awhile ago.

Off host - also krogans are currently bugged and often shoot low and between the two over-the-shoulder views.

WTF does work properly off-host in this game? Melee works reasonable with playable lag, biotic charge is more or less OK. But gun hit detection is, well, unreliable at best. There is some strange delay and sometimes it is messed up even on stationary targets. Seems like you exact position is syncing constantly with the host and readjusting.

I've noticed this a lot, too. but didn't know it was a host thing. good to know why could ME3 do this better? In ME3 majority of weapon hits were resolved on client. In MEA seems that they are resolved on host. They also added some delay and bullet travel time and whatever other bs they came up with, not sure. I feel like I'm using kishok off host with 300 msec lag. And obviously cannot hit anything with it.

The difference between on host sniping and off host sniping is night and day. Thankfully, Vanguarding off host seems decent this time around.

So that's why the P.A.W. is garbage Nah, the way weapon balance is, it is garbage before you even start to shoot it.

basing the entire game off the host is also what allows them to use cheat engine so reliably, who new eaware would go ful lregressive and backpeddle a decade in anti cheat evolutions..
and yeah a bad host is funny, you kill stuff it registers on screen as zero health yet somehow its still shooting at you for up to a minute....
I played a match earlier where literally the entire team got wiped by the kid on his underpowered pc hosting the game, who then edited the teams scores downwards so he came first ....... pretty funny watching your score drop from 14k to 4k so some scrub can fell good about themselves.....

I went around counting the number of kill shots I made to heads versus the actual number of weak point kills the game recorded for a couple matches and found about 25% of the visible headshots were actually registering as weak point kills. I also had several instances where the enemies staggered from impact but took no weapon damage.
Of course, I live in a rural area and have garbage internet, and get high pings to almost everyone, so it's probably less consistently shitty for most people.

Improved but never fixed. As long as the connection is P2P, network delay will always be a problem. It´s an issue in a server-client model as well. Trust me, I tried playing on a server in West america just for lulz. The delay was real. not really, the problem here is the host has too much control over whatever happens On one hand it reminds of the "COD no dedicated servers" disaster, otoh though it also means that everyone is on the same footing.

Well i had noticed the same thing when off host. Aimed perfectly headshot doing next to nothing...
And then i made the most bizarre find ever. Aim right next to the left ear of your target (or whatever passes for a head ) and presto - perfect headshot. I dont even ....
But yes test it and see it works like a charm. Makes it a bit harder when trying to snipe the coolant tube on Hydra tho.
