And yet persona 4 was all about gender roles and sexuality, funny cross dressing, teen idols and an annoying bear who spoke in puns trying to solve a murder mystery like Scooby doo. Don't get me wrong, I love persona 4 a lot, good character writing is still good character writing, but let's not pretend it's perfect either. Even mass effect is not perfect in terms of it writing. But no game really is. Except the Witcher 3. How can Dandelion walk around freely in Novigrad after escaping from prison? Immersion ruined!

Persona never even released on PCs. Why would PC master race care? Figured RPG fans... would be interested in RPG games. I'm beginning to think a lot of you actually prefer 3rd-person shooters and FPS. Either that or you've got a really slim videogaming perspective and only follow Bioware games. Which would explain why some of you seem to be blown away by Andromeda's "open world" - you haven't actually experienced anything better yet.In that case... I'd like to introduce you to a game you might not have heard about - thank me later!

Eh, old man you can't change riding a horse. I am surprised by the lack of people knowing Persona series. I guess it's because I came from the playstation consoles to PC.

Anyone else think this might be a desperate ploy to win over anyone still on the fence that hasn't purchased Andromeda and is wavering between it and Persona 5? (currently at 94% on Metacritic). Also, anyone else plan on playing both? No...don't be ludicrous.

I don't think P5 and ME:A are getting in each other's way. Even if there are some overlapping selling points, they cater to different enough markets.
And yes, once P5 drops I drop any other game.

I'd like to introduce you to a game you might not have heard about - thank me later! That's kind of a strange leap in logic - because we don't play Japanese RPG's, we ignore the RPG genre completely? Pffft! The Witcher 3 is by far the best game I've ever played and it's likely the reason why the mostly woeful facial expressions in Bioware games will get hammered. Now and forever. CDProjekt Red rightfully elevated peoples' expectations for RPG's and believable interactive digital humans, and it earned every accolade. I have played my share of JRPG's, but eventually I saw them all for how formulaic and insultingly empty they are. Like much of Japanese entertainment, they're mindless flash devoid of any substance. I've played through every major Final Fantasy, cringed through many of the recent ones. (I liked IX, though!) I think I lasted two hours in XIII part 3. They took ten years to make Final Fantasy XV and I completed it in twenty hours, and the final sequence was shockingly bad. Much of the storytelling in the game was poor. Sure, let's show only mild hesitation in following this obviously sinister character who wants us dead for an eight minute car ride. Then we'll fight goblins in an actual New York Sewer. That's some fantasy, right there! It's not like I haven't tried, and I doubt I'm alone in saying that I've been burned far too many times by companies like Atlus and Square.

Witcher 3s open world is segmented into zones just like DA I or MEA. Novigrad, Velen, Skellige, White Orchard. Even if you combine Novigrad and Velen you are still left with three zones.

Also, anyone else plan on playing both? Yes, its a conspiracy to sway people away from playing a game limited to one platform and that is a weird JRPG type game. Makes sense.

So what screams desperate on releasing stuff on normal business days? Literally many devs use Tuesday's to give out information, it's one of the busiest days of the week.
I can understand not liking the game or being upset, but your just showing your obessession thinking like that. Just as bad as people going "they're releasing x dlc just before x game launches to keep interest". Can people not play multiple games? Must we restrict ourselves to one?
Personally I've never even heard of persona, had to look it up just to see. Seems to be picking up steam though as of late, but it's still restricted to just Japan (it is a Japanese game after all). might give it a look since I've never heard of it, may even like it.

Despite the sizeable hype, I'm pretty sure Persona 5 is far, far more niche/obscure compared to Bioware's Mass Effect franchise. Especially in the West.
So I don't think the player base of these 2 games will overlap much.
Me? I've actually beaten Persona 5 with the JP version. Amazing game. Amazing characters too *points at avatar*.
You're just asking to the wrong crowd.
