So some asshat made internet (SRS BSNS) death threats against a developer once, and as a consequence, the whole community is punished. I call bullshit.

They say "talk to us on Twitter", but they mean "talk to the hand". They have a lot of people asking them explicitly about balance changes and patches, which they flat out ignore. Same thing during last week's stream, they cherry picked questions and ignored the rest.

Bah.

Yup, but they do this because no matter what they said and did, someone out there would get all internet warrior on them.

So why bother with it? I can totally understand that point of action, even if I don't personally agree with it.

Watching the stream now. They just spoke about balance changes. They said that they are monitoring and that there will be more news on april 4th.

There are a million ways of getting to someone if you are dedicated enough. Stalking as an extreme example, doesn´t even need an eletronic medium. If you cannot even police your own forums where a mayority of friendly players is hanging out, then you much less can police a mean twitter retweet or Facebook reblog or whatever it´s called.

However, if it is their strategy to channel feedback through alternative means, then that´s their choice.

I just woe it, because I am of the oppinion that forums are a better way to organize and handle these things, than dispersing information via three different mediums ( Twitter, Facebook, Twitch ). My daily attention time is limited, this is why I never subscribe to channel and feeds, because I only want to read about specifics and not wade through hundreds of hours of annoyingly produced video stream with ( to me ) useless information like what new merchandise we can grab from the N7 store.

I think making some characters that are unique and stand out instead of something you've been playing the last 5 years would have been an idea.  I guess in all the testing they forgot about that.

They could at least draw what some new abilities would have looked like and post them to their new home...tumblr.
