Does anyone know how the scene works? I mean: which character is the character that put Shepard plaque on the wall? Which are the criteria? Is it completely random?
In my last playthrough (High ems destroy, romance miranda), it was traynor... Wtf. I've almost never talk to her

Some have a theory that if it's not your LI, it's the one you talked to most or took to missions most, and in my case that sorta seemed to work so far. But I don't know. Yours is a fine example on how that doesn't actually work

Its the LI unless he/she is dead or if romancing Miranda/Jack, it will be who you talked with the most. The number of missions that a character is taken on has nothing to do with it since Samantha is able to put up the nameplate.

So all those times when I went to talk to Garrus and he told me he was calibrating, still count for something.

No chess scene, nothing. Same with Cortez. But he died on Earth. And I've talked with every companion after every main quest. There is no comparison. 50 hours campaign, traynor had maybe... three minutes? Cutscene, mostly. So how is it possible that she the one holding the plaque? ahaha, so wierd...

If you didn't talk to her, how do you know there would be a chess scene? When Shepard asked, after Thessia, if anyone knew where Leng went to, did Traynor tell Shepard? He died because you didn't talk to him on the Citadel How many of those squadmates were standing at the memorial wall? James and Javik will never put up the nameplate. The same for Joker. Who were you expecting to hold the nameplate?

yes I completed that missions, but these are inevitable (or almost inevitable) dialogue. I had all the optional dialogues with all my companion (except the romance dialogues), except for traynor. After every important mission I used to talk to everyone. Except for traynor. I know about the chess scene because this is not my first (nor second, nor third) playthrough yeah, that was my goal All of them. Javik, Vega, Liara, Ash, Garrus, Tali. Edi was vaporized. I don't know... anyone but traynor? Maybe Garrus, he's the one I've used the most.

This is what you posted If you only talked to her once, you would never have known about grissom or the ex-Cerberus scientists. Both of those missions are not inevitable/almost inevitable. They only happen if you talk to her

But the game "told" you to do that. She keeps saying "hey commander, there is a new mission available, talk to me". I've talk to her "deliberately e and freely" just once.
But ok, let's say I've talked to her three +1 times. Grissom, Cerberus scientist, and the toothbrush/IDA-is-so-great dialogue (plus the cutscene after thessia). The end. So? Does it make a difference? It's still not 100% traynor dialogues. Not even close. I had a lot more dialogues with Garrus or Liara.
