The maps

It's an old rule of multiplayer map design: multiple distinct areas and multiple paths to get to each one. These maps, though. A couple are just chaos. www.gamesradar.com/amp/check-out-the-5-mass-effect-andromeda-multiplayer-maps-you-can-play-at-launch/Derelict especially. I think it's that it is really only two areas parallel to each other and four ways between them. I spend a lot of time trying to find enemies. Sandstorm doesn't even have distinct areas, at least not enough. It's a bunch of similar buildings arranged improbably (no wonder it was abandoned) and a dirt area under them where no one goes. My least favorite. Zero probably follows the rule best. There is an outdoor area and an indoor area, and it has multiple rooms (a couple are very similar though) with paths to the next room or outside. Verticality keeps the outside interesting. Magma I enjoy even though it is really only a ring. At least you can always choose which direction to go around. I actually haven't seen Icebreaker yet. (3 hours played lolol)

I assume you're still playing on Bronze right? Guess that's the actual reason to you having a hard time finding enemies to kill.

Yea I'm not a big fan of most the maps in this game, especially that one snow map. I can live with the others though.

The maps are utter trash and biggest reason why I'm not keen on playing this. ME3MP maps were decent. What the hell happened?

Now we have jump jet so they designed it differently. Some people will like it and some people will hate it, but I can understand why developer wanted to try something new with latest game.

I assume you're still playing on Bronze right? Guess that's the actual reason to you having a hard time finding enemies to kill. Not really, at times it is tougher to find enemies simply due to the multi level inside and outside design. The red enemy markers just show a general direction that can change in a hurry and if your team is spread out high and low. As you state higher levels = more enemies and not as much of a problem but other things come into play.

These maps are pretty bad though, even with more vertical environments. Many if them make navigation a pain and then there are the dumb things like trying to access the right roof on Sandstorm, or why the center is completely blocked Magma. Glacier is almost too vertical and Derelict is just confusing for no reason. About the only map that has good design is Zero and for some reason it has limited vertical spaces. Almost all of MEAMP's maps are a step backwards from ME3MP, which should not happen. It's fine to try new things but not at the cost of good gameplay.

I cannot tell whether they are bad or not.. because I am really just a simple player who has no idea how to design these things. haha I did notice that MEAMP maps constantly force me to move & jump around during gameplay compared to ME3 MP where I can find a good spot and just riot there. Eventually I will get used to new gameplay.. I just accepted and interpreted that as the developer wanting us to play the game with more speed and mobility.

Eventually I will get used to new gameplay.. I just accepted and interpreted that as the developer wanting us to play the game with more speed and mobility. Some of us actually have experience designing multiplayer maps though. Heck, I did it as a career in the late 90s. It doesn't take a career to understand that you want the conflicts to take place in specific areas though. If anything you move the ammo caches to places off the main paths to force players to move, not take away all intended focal points on the map. I mean just look at Sandstorm. Players camp the roof because all the other sightlines suck. The back area is completely neglected too unless you plan to camp there. And then there's trying to get up to the roofs when in the center as this feels like a bad platformer, not a space designed to promote verticality. And lastly, if you want to promote movement then why only have a single, fixed extraction point? Even if each map rotated through 2 or 3 extractions points it would force players to adjust or risk missing extraction. But what do I know, I'm just a simple player right now.
