My setup:
Foward: F
Backward: V
Left: S
Right: D
Power 1: Q
Power 2: W
Power 3: E
Ammo Pack: 1
Cobra: 2
Ops Pack: 3
Medigel: Mouse 5
Melee: A
Dodge: Mouse 4
Sprint: SHIFT
Jetpack: SPACE
Switch RHA-LHA: Click Middle Mouse
USE button: T (had to rebind in config files so I could shake off dogs)
My reasoning was my brain just couldn't do WASD. All normal movement mapped to normal hand placement on the keyboard just made sense. In ME3 I had melee mapped to Mouse 4 and medigel on A (for easy reload canceling), but dodge is used more now and they actively tried to kill reload canceling >.<, it felt more natural to switch it up. I also like consumables and powers stacked on top of one another. It also means I don't have to reach for 5, 6, 7 or even 8 which feels odds to me.

Not completely weird but it's strange enough too:
Movement - WASD
Camera swap - CTRL
Sprint and Mantle - SPACE
Jump - SHIFT
Dodge - MOUSE WHEEL DOWN
Melee - MOUSE WHEEL UP
Reload - MOUSE THUMB
Switch weapon - MOUSE SIDE BUTTONS
Abilities - Q, E, R (I'm used to this from all games)
MP items - 1,2,3,4 (I'm used to this from ME3)
Interact - F or C (works better for me than CTRL/ALT)
TAP to break free doesn't work tough. Somebody posted a workaround to fix it (by default it works only if you have interact set to E)
I'm thinking about rebinding melee to F or C, mouse wheel works fine if you just have to tap it once but if I'm going to start playing spammy melee classes like a vanguard I might have to change this.

I also have SP controls configured although I have hardly played it. The 4 Profiles for example are on 1/2/3/4 and the weapon wheel on Mouse 3 (MWheel Click) and Scanner on TAB. All the stuff like Inventory, Codex, etc. is usually on a key that is easy to remember like I=Inventory, C=Codex and so on... What might actually be they stangest thing for some people (myself included if you had told me this in the past): I switched from my USB mechanical keyboard with MX Reds to a Logitech K810 Bluetooth laptop chiclet style keyboard and now actually even prefer playing games with that one. |
