I like Gears 3's horde mode ............if they would have made it more like ME3MP,, with some type of real progression system along with weapon upgrades, I would play it more often.

On a side note, doesn't Epic no longer do Gears? Too lazy to look it up atm. UPDATED: The Coalition has the rights to GoW now. They were formerly known as Microsoft Vancouver / Black Tusk Studios. No relation to Epic, although Rod Fergusson, the executive producer for GoW 1-3, was hired on to oversee development. "The Coalition" name change goes along with the whole "COG" thing (Coalition of Ordered Governments). I'm also reading that Epic did originally begin work on GoW4, and that it was continued by The Coalition, and not started over from scratch. There were youtube videos, one in particular that went really in-depth to demonstrate the hitbox discrepancies between characters. This one is very short and basic, but will give you the general idea in 30 seconds: Also, female characters ducking behind low cover cannot be hit with grazing shots, they are 100% unhittable. |

Even better if there's cross-platform play between the two, it will give people something to complain about with pad vs mouse+keyboard controls. It just wouldn't be a GoW game without something to whine about.

Really? I've never tried it. Most people says it's awesome. It's a fun game but the bullet sponge bosses just ruin it for me. You can beat missions solo quite easily if you are the right level, the bosses though are just a chore as you slowly whittle down their health, all while trying to avoid their minions. Ubisoft balanced the missions really well for solo play but just gave up when it came to the bosses. It wouldn't really be an issue if the matchmaking was halfway decent and maybe it is just my bad luck but I always get matched up with the gungho idiots. If you can get a group of friends together to play then it really can be a great experience, the game looks gorgeous too, but solo or with randoms...just leave it alone. |
