It feels like they do, but I don't really have any good SRs yet to tell for sure.

IDK. I see it, but I think the hit detection is just that bad. I can shoot people in the face and only 50% of the time they will actually die and if there is health left over it's never the same amount. It might be 25% it might 50 or even 75% no consistency whatsoever. Terrible.

It feels like they do, but I don't really have any good SRs yet to tell for sure. yes every gun does though not just them its better to point at something tap scope and fire a millisecond later to get the best damage, even if your charging around and trying to stay out of the death bubbles

Indeed they do, just like in me3. Massive damage and accuracy penalty. Dumb gamey mechanic if you ask me. Snipers for sure, but I don't know about the rest of the weapons, I assume not.

Only tested in SP, but my Isharay there does a lot less damage. I'd dare to say even 50 percent DR in singleplayer.

I will test this tonight. I doubt this until I have tried it myself, seems like a huge thing for the entire community to miss.

Huh, that's a loading tip I haven't seen yet. Interesting, I hipfire a lot, will have to mess around with that.

If it really is every gun, that's completely ridiculous. It should exist as all, since it makes no sense.

It should exist as all, since it makes no sense. well I suspect the reason for it being every gun is it was that or no guns, due to the new game engine not being as elastic as the old one in order to prevent another rendition of striker = missile glitch

Okay, I think I can debunk this, it definitely doesn't apply to pistols. I just did my first Solo Bronze to check with a Phalanx III (sadly, my strongest semi-auto non-SR weapon), and I could tell no difference in damage between hipfire and aiming. I left a Sharpshooter alive on the second wave so its shields could regen, and tested multiple times how many shots it took to drop the shields. 7 shots, for both hipfire and aimed, and it looked like the same amount of shield left on the final shot both ways. Wouldn't be the first time that a tooltip or loading screen tip was just flat wrong in a Mass Effect game.

Which, sure, it's possible that there's a bug where adding a scope adds the SR hipfire penalty. But I'm relatively confident after playing today that there's no hipfire penalty on anything other than SRs. I never put the scopes on other weapons, I may give that a try out of curiosity the next time I play, that would be a hilariously bad bug if that were the case.

Always thought that was kinda dumb. A 50 cal to the face will make just as much damage hip shot as it will scoped. Just sayin. Guess its in the script.

There's even an ingame loading tip telling you SR do more damage when scoped I think that the point of contention right now is whether it's just SRs or if it applies to ALL guns. Someone else said that same loading tip says that it is all guns, not just SRs. I haven't seen that loading screen tip yet, personally.
