Kaidan Alenko good looking minority.
Jacob good looking minority.
You know they screwed up when the faces of sidekicks who largely keep to themselves in the background look better than your preset facial options.

Good point. BTW, did you like the DA:I creator? (I did) DAI wasn't my ideal I prefer more depth, but bioware has always had issues I feel creating a good CC. DAI at least we were able to create more variety in facial structures which I feel is more important in the long run then having our daddy and mommy match us. I don't see why we couldn't just tweak the looks of our parents and sibling completely. I'm in favor of always more player control in the CC instead of less, always. Though to be fair I was pretty disappointed in the CC I was expecting a DAI CC at the very least and couldn't believe they scaled it back even further. DAI needed a scale up, not down. Don't know wtf they were thinking.

I don't think SJWs are the reason they are doing inclusion, they have been doing it for years. I think SJWs are the reason why some of the inclusion in the more recent bioware games feels more like tokenism. I think the pressure from those types makes Bioware devs feel like they have to fill quotas or they will get a backlash, then they do a bad job and get backlash anyway. I'm all for more inclusion and I think Bioware games are exactly the kinds of games where it works and doesn't have to feel forced because their games are all about characters but if Bioware doesn't want to do it properly then they shouldn't do it at all.
Anyway we all know there are people working for bioware who are fans of people like Anita Sarkeesian, a woman who needs thousands of dollars to make a few short videos a year complaining about how people sit in destiny and misrepresenting scenes from hitman. This is not who Bioware should be listening to, in my opinion.

Jack, who wasn't designed to be the conventionally pretty girl, looks better than Sarah.
I prefer bimbos but Jack came with some runway model features.
Sarah looks like your generic okay looking white girl from any state college of your choice.

Dude's a cat person. 'Nuff said.
Seriously though...I'd rather a game with no romances and all Asian or African or all Martians or whatever with a good story rather than dumbing everything down and devs wasting their time on making sure they can insert the newest societal 'norms' into it.

I am so fucking sick of people talking about "sjws" and shit as if that's the reason they are doing this. Has anyone ever considered they are doing it because SURPRISE it is an untapped market? When the entire world of gaming caters to straight white males you really look like shits complaining that 1 damn game doesn't cater to you, oh no whatever will you do?! I imagine it's like how some people might be sick of hearing "straight white male" being used as a broad sweeping negative term. I mean I can understand bringing up that most games are aimed at straight men but that has nothing to do with ethnicity.

I just don't understand who they are "pandering" to make Sara so damned unattractive (as well as most of the default female presets in the CC). Who feels better about playing an unattractive character??
I am a woman. I am well-adjusted, fairly successful, and happy with myself. AND I WOULD PREFER TO PLAY AN ATTRACTIVE FEMALE IN A GAME. And in games where I have to play a male? I prefer to play as an attractive male as well. (oh no!! the sky is falling!!)
It is a visual medium, for frack's sake! What woman can honestly say they would prefer to play as an unattractive female? Would they also prefer to listen to a singer with a lousy voice? Yes, that singer may have loads of passion and feelings and depth and WORTH AS A HUMAN BEING...but if they sound like nails on a chalkboard, who wants to hear it?
I see guys get on this forum all the time ranting that women are ruining gaming because they want average looking women in games. They who? What woman really wants games to look bad to make themselves feel better? Is that a real thing? I am not trying to be a jerk, but...who is this design style for, exactly?
Edited for clarification - the point I am making is that it's not just guys who are getting shafted by unattractive characters. Alot of women think it sucks too. There are so few games where I actually get to play as woman...it would be nice to get to play as a decent looking one!

I honestly think Sara looked completely generic pre-patch. The problem is that her proportions are just laughable after the patch but she looks more... iconic? Back to the video. Here are the golden nuggets: "We're trying not to "stereotype"", meaning, that's why you're seeing unattractive female leads like Cassandra, Sera and Sara (I think they're hot... except Sara lmao) "We are trying to be progressive" "Every time people tell me we've given into SJWs I feel proud of what I have done" You can't deny it. So this is why all the characters in MEA look like they fell out of the ugly tree hitting every branch on the way down? Ugh, as if I really needed a reason to hate "progressives" more. "Every time people tell me we've given into SJWs I feel proud of what I have done" And yeah, that's not really something to be proud of. Including diverse characters is great when it is well done, but when it is done just for the sake of feeling "proud" about yourself you are likely doing more harm then good.

Didn't watch, didn't listen, I've heard more than enough from the devs in the past. I don't want their politics and social agendas in my hobby/leisure games. How boring. My gaming is an escape from real life stresses and to unwind. Shame on me, right? If they want to make a product that completely ceases to appeal to me (they're nearly there, honestly) then I will simply spend my money with a different company that is less interested in all that drivel and is actually focused on what I'm interested in: a good and well made game that is FUN. Wild concept, I know. Also, making a playable character that doesn't make me gag in cut scenes is fairly important too. /rant

There are so few games where I actually get to play as woman...it would be nice to get to play as a decent looking one! Ding Ding Ding! Feel exactly the same. Default Sara is not terrible looking I guess but I don't see any way I could ever use any of the custom presets. The lack of a lighter skin tone alone means I'll probably never play a custom character but even if they had I don't think I could actually play a custom character with how bad they look. Maybe some wiz with the CC can make a decent looking one but I haven't so far. Its so bad I had to go with default Scott for my first playthrough. Even worse the not worst looking romance option I can't even put my moves on (I am totally crushing on Cora behind her back ). I might actually have to go with a straight romance this time if they let me go after Reyes (haven't gotten a Sara that far yet).

Who feels better about playing an unattractive character?? Loser women who have made dumb life choices that jeopardized any chance of looking good. IDK what Bioware is thinking. Do they believe the stereotype that all girls who play games are ugly? That's laughable for a company that parades progressive measures in their pandering efforts.

Making Sarah unattractive so she can be relatable backfired hard.

Making Sarah unattractive so she can be relatable backfired hard. If this is what they actually did by design, then they would deserve all the scorn, vitriol and derision such a ridiculous choice warrants. I thought the characters were ugly because some folks just sucked at their job....
