Yup. But they would've to tell another story that takes place in the same universe, since Bioware stated that there was no Cannon Shepard.
I wouldn't mind a TV series with The Illusive Man, featuring Martin Sheen. That guy is the Illusive Man, just give him some glowing blue eyes and voilà.

A live action series wouldn't be canon, it would just be the live action version of Shepard's adventure.

Yup. But they would've to tell another story that takes place in the same universe, since Bioware stated that there was no Cannon Shepard. Pretty much. A story involving the events of the trilogy or MEA wouldn't work at all but another story set in the same universe? Sure. Like, they could make a show about how the humans discovered the Prothean ruins on Mars and made first contact, for example.

Why would the Tv series have to be considered cannon? The entire series set's it self up for multiverse theory to allow all sorts of stuff to be made with it. It is set up that Bioware missed with ME:A. Rather then try to shoehorn it into existing galaxy lore in the stupidest way possible. Creating massive contradictions and plot whole in the over all story line. Have it be instead that ME:A takes place in the possible future of X time line where X and Y choices were made. It would even open themselves to being able to make other ME games as well.

Because they stated that no choice you've ever made in the games were cannon, so seting an universe where X and Y choices were made would split the people who wanted a TV series. Post Control Ending? Hell yeah, but people that chose Destroy/Synthesis wouldn't watch it, since it wasn't their cannon. Plus, we still suffer from the endings. Assuming one is cannon would be a major backlash. So, why do something that isn't cannon when you can make something that is cannon, not changing the history that we know, like, for example, the First Contact War, different views on the Reaper War and so on. That keeps people even more interested. Producing things that aren't cannon, for me, doesn't make any sense.

So you are saying the vast majority of ME players are such whinny bratty children who throw massive temper tantrums because someone has one more chocolate chip on their cookie then them? I generally speaking have a very pessimistic outlook on many thing but that makes me look like the single most optimistic person ever. Your facts behind this statement are? I'm a synthesis person myself but I would watch the hell out of an ME series TV show even if they choose to not cure the Krogan, kill off the Rachni Queen, pic the Geth over Quarians and ultimately choose destroy option. Because I'm not a massively egotistical cry baby who throws a massive temper-tantrum the second I perceive someone not bowing down to my personal will. No one suffers from the endings. And selecting an ending to allow a story or stories continue doesn't auto default it to official cannon. Again multiverse theory is there are infinite possibilities. There exists a universe were Shepard is the ultimate paragon and a universe were Shepard is the ultimate renegade. Both are equally valid and both exist at the same time. So for example if ME:A took place post Control ending with Genophage cured, Quarians chosen over Geth, etc. That doesn't make it the official cannon ending of all time. This is just the series of events that take place within that time line and that reality. Continue that time line as long as they want. Then they could go back and create another game or game series that takes place in the destroy time line. Reapers are gone, galactic society has been rebuild when an extra galactic threat looms over the galaxy. Again it is simply following the series of events that takes place within that time line and that reality. Or am I giving to much credit to gamers to be able to grasp and comprehend this logic? Are they really just stupid, drooling idiots who go into caveman/woman like rampages smashing everything around them and bellowing at the top of their lungs the second things aren't 100% perfect for them? I personally do not think so but your replies seems to say they are.

I would prefer a TV series if they did one to maybe follow the people under Hackett during ME3. Short of the major decisions that would show up with the Hackett side of things (Geth vs Quarians, Rackni Queen, etc), people can pretend that Shepard chose what they chose. And depending on the writers and how good they are, they could even leave gender up in the air.

Multiverse theory would never happen. Bioware needs to move on. ME3 and it's endings are done. They would never, ever release a TV Series with multiple outcomes for that. There are thousands and thousands of combinations. So, pick destroy and kill mordin? Let's make TV Series of that Pick control and kill mordin? Let's make TV Series of that Pick destroy and let mordin live? Let's make TV Series of that And when all the possible events of those things happen, then we go back and make a TV Series of another outcome. Really, it doesn't even make sense to invest in something that has thousands of outcomes without cannonizing one thing that makes sense. That's why they ditched the whole Expanded Universe in Star Wars, for example. And to that last part of your post Just... No

Really, it doesn't even make sense to invest in something that has thousands of outcomes without cannonizing one thing that makes sense. That's why they ditched the whole Expanded Universe in Star Wars, for example. And to that last part of your post Just... No Actually multiverse theory can work pretty damn well. The basic concept of it isn't that complicated to explain and I'm fairly certain that even middle schooler age players could understand it. No player's choices are invalidated at all because all choices are still equally valid. Your simply viewing or playing in a universe with a certain set of choices made. I'm not sure if you are genuinely struggling with the concept or are trying to over simply it to build yourself a straw man to argue against. For the sake of simplification of the concept in case you are genuinely struggling to understand it lets set it up like this very basic set up. There are 4 different universe all the choices are the same save for the ending choice. Universe A chooses Destroy Universe B chooses Control Universe C chooses Synthesis Universe D Chooses Refuse If they were to create a TV show based on Universe A it doesn't automatically negate the existence of Universes B-D. Because of multiverse theory they still exist. What we are watching how ever is simply Universe A. This is also the basis for a lot of stuff for the show Rick and Morty. Were the show follows the Rick and Morty of Universe C137. But since the TV show only follows them it doesn't negate the fact that other Rick and Mortys exist in other universes. Including a Universe that people are shaped like hammers or fish. Actually it does make sense to invest in something that has thousands of possible outcomes. Because it allows more freedom for the writing staff for the possible TV show. It also allows them to continue to use the ME universe without hard rebooting everything and literally rendering everyone's individual choices as non cannon. As for Star Wars expanded universe that was a massive cluster fuck of conflicting set ups and problems. Within Luke's life time there is enough political intrigue to make even Tom Clancy say enough is enough. There is enough galaxy wide death and destruction the fact that people are still alive in the galaxy is amazing. Dozens of individuals telling their own stories in the continually complex and increasing nonsensical single story line of the Star Wars universe. So Disney hit the reset button rendering it all officially non cannon to allow them to build a cleaner single story line. With the writers now having the ability to pick and choose what they want from the expanded universe to exist in the new cannon. That is why in the animated series Star Wars Rebels Grand Admiral Thrawn makes his appearance. Even if the Thrawn trilogy or what ever it was never comes to pass. AKA he rises up to claim rule of the Empire post death of Palpatine. And tries to take back from the newly formed government by the Rebels. They can still use his character and character traits in the new official cannon. Are you sure? Because my whole suggestion is very simple, easy to understand and would fix a lot of problems for the game series and any other media it might expand into as a whole. So they don't have to pull stupid stuff like a private organization getting enough funding to build ships capable of extra galactic travel and keeping people in suspended animation for hundreds of years. The price of doing that would bankrupt any individual government if not the entire Council. Particularity since ME 1 has an Alliance Admiral complain about the cost of building the Normandy and what that money could have been used for instead. And I am working under the assumption that players by large are capable of understanding this and not over sized whinny babies. Your post how ever seems to hint that they are over sized whinny babies. Because they will apparently go into a rage if a TV series is made if it doesn't automatically follow their choices to the letter.

I don't follow the "canon" argument. How does a TV Shepard change anything about the games? Some people would have a hard time with TV Shepard choosing to do something that their Shepard would never do. It would hurt the ratings, but I don't necessarily think that it would be so bad that the show would be cancelled on that reason alone.

That is assuming the vast majority of players are that childish they get upset over something like that.

I don't think whether it upsets people who care about their canon over all else is that important for a tie-in (the best of the otherwise weak bunch of Dragon Age tie-in comics was the one that used a set version of Varric, Alistair and Isabela), but I'd think that anything that was a rehash of stuff from the games would be uninteresting just because we've already seen those stories.
That said, I think exploring the backstories of minor characters or expanding on historical events from the lore could make for a decent TV series.

A non-Shepard story because I would hate it if my canon Shepard didn't exist. I just know Kaidan would die and I can't stand for it.
