What about being able to pick the character's personality at will? [no spoilers]

It seems pretty obvious that Bioware won't go back to having the player in control of EVERYTHING the main character says, and instead are going with the "Hawke" approach, so what about being able to make use choose, in the menu, our character's personality at will and whenever we feel like it?
Basically give us the chance to say "alright, important stuff is happening so let me go into the menu and make my sarcastic character go pragmatic/serious for a bit"
I think something like this would have really helped the roleplay aspect of the game, since sometimes my Ryder said things that were out of character for the general idea i built of him (like, for example, making a hard choice and picking only pragmatic/serious dialogue options, and then making random jokes. Doesn't always happen, but it's somehwat grating since Ryder's sarcasm is much different from Hawke's, that was basically always nice because kind of cynic in nature)
