Thinking back on ME3 some, the cover slide actually kept me pretty busy. If they had added a melee at the end of it for nearby enemies… Maybe like having it finish it with a sucker punch then a quick and dirty pile driver.

I don't think melee combat should be a big factor in Sci-Fi. Combat evolved towards guns, because guns are lot more lethal. So while space ninjas are cool and all that, I believe it's bad enough that we have "space shotguns", "space smgs" etc, instead of futuristic weaponry that would make me feel like in sci-fi and not our modern era.

The addition of the ninja like swords (not omni blades nor bayonets) was a pretty lame decision in ME3, I would hope Andromeda moves away from that anime space ninja nonsense and keep melee combat somewhat...I don't know...gritty?

My problem with the "ninjas" was the fact they couldn't die worth a damn, yet somehow they could simply walk up and kill us, not so much their existence. I think it's fine with the blade. It's fine with the stealth. It makes some sense, if you're going to assassinate someone, use the most silent, lethal weapon you have, while being as invisible as possible. Not sure a full katana-sized blade's necessary but a blade, capable of penentrating most armor, is appropriate. But then again, i'm on Team Pirate.

A knife can be more lethal than a gun. The only difference is range. With a gun you have range. With a knife you don't.

I think ME3, particularly multiplayer, handled melee pretty well. I don't think they should go to stupid extremes like being able to parry other melee attacks, it is afterall a shooter, but adding in around about as much depth as ME3 had would be good. This. If MEA SP and MP have melee at least as good as ME3MP, I will be satisfied. Giv'em the people's elbow!
