For the melee damage minmaxers out there.
Tested it on the Ruzad, Katana, Dhan, Piranha and Crusader: it appears the Ruzad has a slight innate melee damage bonus, that can be even more strengthened with a melee mod.

i hope that's listed on the gun's stats sheet. otherwise that's really, really dumb if true. hidden modifiers are the bane of rpg games.

That's not listed in the stats sheet nor hinted in the "details" of the gun.
I guess it's "listed" in the gun's design, since it has a blade at the end by default.
In any case it's the best gun to have for a character heavily built around melee.

Good to know. How much difference do you think it makes? To give you an idea (tutorial mission; I used a Human Adept level 1 (0 points except 1 in each power, so no melee bonus whatsoever) - Ruzad X with Melee mod X (after 2 hits) - Katana X with Melee mod X (after 2 hits) - Ruzad X without Melee mod (after 2 hits) - Katana X without Melee mod (after 2 hits) It looks like a 5/10% buff. The Ruzad might be useful as a melee tool only. As it is, without a working smartchoke and a better RoF, it's useless as a shotgun per se.

5 years, and they didn´t take a fucking clue from ME3MP with all the crazy stealth nerf and undocumented "features". Thank you for testing this. May Upvotes brighten your day.

While we're at it, Black Widow doesn't have innate piercing, unlike ME3MP. I tested it because of the blade at the end of the gun. It's a pretty good hint that the weapon has melee bonus to me. Of course I would have liked a line of text somewhere.

This seems like 50 damage from Stasis.

So, turns out Ruzad is one of the best weapons in the game...in an odd sort of way.
In that weapons are so bad and it helps not use one.

Interesting, I tried to use the Ruzad but its pure shit. I want the old shotgun crosshair back. Currently shotguns feel like they do 5 % damage if you want to shoot more than 20 centimeters and even then you don't hit and do zero damage. What happened to my beloved Disciple... And I want my Graal spike thrower back!

Shotgun will get a bit better once smartchoke is fixed. The Piranha would be very good with smartchoke. Even the "best" shotgun in the game (that would be Dhan) so far is lacking. It's unreliable and deals not enough damage. Too bad, cause it doesn't need smartchoke.

I'm curious if Quarians might be introduced in an MP DLC, if they take Geth along with their lovely Javelins...

The Vanquisher sniper rifle also has innate extra weak point damage, but not 10% or so, it's way more apparently.
