Reading the autopsy report presents a particular interesting theory. When the Archon connected with Meridian, there was a "division of consciousness" as stated what happens when the Ryder Twins interact with Remnant.
"When [Ryder] took control of the power, the Archon was not just de-powered; he was--for a lack of a better term--severed from himself."
The Archon's consciousness could very well be very much alive and existing within Meridian. This unknown threat could be detrimental to those living on Meridian or really anyone in Helius if he "assumes control".
Could the Archon exist within the Remnant? Could the same be said of Alec Ryder? If either are true, will they be able to speak/interact with the Pathfinder in the future much like SAM could in this game?
Could make for a really interesting sequel

Nice twist.
I didn't see this coming when I looked at the title.
This is why I think SAM is dangerous he's already remotely turned off Ryders heart twice and if anything on a Reapers level of hacking ability comes along they can simply hack SAM or even Ryder.
(Zha'til.)
They could well assume control like you said. Not just of Ryder but of all the Pathfinders and their teams. Then you have the problem of SAM being even more advanced than your average AI.

I think SAM has hard coded restrictions as he to ask for permission to do so.

OP, I was actually thinking the same thing as you. I also feel like they left a window open for the Archon to come back as a threat in a future dlc, expansion or a 2nd Andromeda game. He might create a host body, or control parts of the Remnant or even the planet Meridian and cause a large threat for the human colony.
I do disagree that the same thing happened to Alec Ryder. At the moment of his death he wasn't connected to the Remnant in the same way the Archon was. He even gave up his connection to SAM at the end to keep the player alive. Our interactions with Alec are all through memories via SAM and our implant.

I had the same thought.
I wonder if that is a setup for the plot to one of the DLCs.

I'm just sad I didn't get to walk up to the Archon and put one in his head Saren style.

Even if he is alive somehow i doubt they turn him into the big threat next time since he wasn't suppose to be iconic i think. they weren't ready before with Alec gone (probably the strongest member of Andromeda) and one of the twins in coma for the most part and weakened later, now they even have their upcoming council with their golden planet found so someone like Archon ain't gonna be a challenge anymore.
If they make a sequel, i wish it is about the consequences of relying on SAM.

Despite his height I fid not find the archon to be menacing or intimidating in the slightest. Maybe it's the sad face he had.

And it's absolutely not because I really want Rob Kazinski to come back* *That is a lie

BTW, when you first heard him speak, TELL ME you didn't rush to IMDB to see if they'd gotten David Warner to voice him. Because damn if he doesn't sound like the MCP from Tron.
