I think Andromeda 2 will be a thing no matter what, but perhaps, as with AC Unity the sales will underwhelm then and this will end up as a duology franchise. Anyway, the galaxy map is getting patched so we can skip the slow transition animations. I'm fine with that - I guess there's nothing much they can do to fix the more fundamental issues in the way this was designed. Some even like the new Galaxy Map a lot and didn't question it for its potential flaws in their reviews so it can't be all bad. However, I think it goes without saying you can improve this thing and I don't just mean "revert to how it was in MET", that would be too safe I think.
I keep thinking back to the initial trailers for this game. Let's take a look.
The vision I understood from the way it is marketed here, is that you'd be Ryder looking at his map in third person as he pushes the GUI interface and upon setting a destination you would then see the the transition inside the tempest through its windows as the ship flies through the FTL tunnel and lands at its destination.
They kinda already did this, albeit in that crude MMO mechanical fashion in SWTOR, and you could even have other players on board your ship as it happened.
What I think should be changed in Andromeda 2 is to keep the 3D rendered space map, but as you select it it's all presented in a sort of wireframe or colorless HUD or something and then as you set the destination it zooms back to third person and you see the kind of space-traveling as is present in this game but from inside the Tempest as opposed to in first person. Then, they should also avoid making it zoom into horizontal view only to zoom out 3 seconds later while you wait for it to happen. This way, actually using the map feels seamless and to the point and the physical sense of traveling is intact. Hell, they might even make us go to the docking tube to descend onto the planet we're orbiting.

It should be in real time, adjusted for distance. Unskippeable, from the same cockpit view it takes now.
So, if you want to travel from one cluster on the map, to another cluster on the other side of the galaxy, you can set it before you go to bed, and when you wake up you might have arrived

I think in the next ME game(if it comes) theres going to be couple of clusters. Theyre likely keep Heleus as a starting point but add 2-3 other clusters weve gotten access to. With what you might ask, maybe well find out in the dlc. Maybe the Nexus has moved into one of these.
Id also expect a lot more new species. They have to add at least 6 new species, having only 2 was a dissapointment.

I think that every time you travel to a new system it should cut to a 5-second, Austin Powers/Laugh-In type interstitial featuring groovy music and asari go-go dancers covered in Flower Power body art.

I'm thinking the next game might just be focused on another cluster or something. Then, a concept I would love to see is that via Rem-tech the Initiative and Angara start building a Mass Relay together that warps between Heleus and the neighbouring cluster, but the cluster next-over needs to be cleared of some threat or something. Anyway, this is just a tangent.

If they just sped up the panning and zooming a bit, Andromeda's is actually my ideal galaxy map.
