I used MSI afterburner when I recorded shit a few years ago. It was pretty good and did not use too many resources. I think NVIDIA shadowplay is OK too? I don't know.

I see you play on PC.
Open Broadcaster Software is good.
MSI Afterburner is decent as well but it's menus for video settings are less intuitive, in my opinion.
Nvidia Shadowplay is good if you have an Nvidia GPU.
Radeon ReLive is the AMD equivalent, and based on what I've seen it performs almost identically to Shadowplay.

Also wouldn't be surprised if they update it to take advantage of ReLive in the future.

I'm still using Shadowplay while I can keep it at V2.
Not sure what I'll do when it comes to upgrading graphics card.

Shadowplay and ReLive/VCE are good enough for most people. Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is used for streaming or can be configured to save locally like other recording software. I haven't liked the end result of anything I've recorded using x264. I would rather record large files using MSI Afterburner's MJPG option or Lagarith (downloaded separately) and then compress that using x264 still at high quality settings via StaxRip. With Lagarith and my x264 configuration, I feel my YouTube videos are finally at a quality where the imperfections, mostly blockiness, cannot really be spotted during regular viewing. Some technical mumbo jumbo problem I had... As I discovered, recording and processing videos the way I have will invariably result in videos that are not perfectly recorded at 60fps/30fps/whatever you have set, which left me with out-of-sync audio/video. Even if you think otherwise, there's a great chance imperceptible frame drops, loading screens with low maximum fps, and whatever else will cause a recording to go below its specified FPS, and not everything handles that well. My TL;DR solution is to have your source filter for a program like StaxRip (I've been using DSS2) enforce your desired FPS by filling in missing frames with duplicates. That means, for DSS2, I have to change: DSS2("%source_file%") to DSS2("%source_file%", fps=60.000).AssumeFPS(60,1)

Well AMD ReLive is AMDs answer to Shadowplay (Share) pretty sure it works in the same manner which is why its only supported by RX400 Series GPUs (and newer when they come out). From testing that I've seen they are compareable. So your good either way I'd say.

Cheers mate. I'm already doing that with 2.11.4 Also, if the prompt to upgrade does appear there's a folder to delete but since I'm in work I can't remember exactly where it is I shall check later Edit: And since it's now later, this is where the folder is C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\GeForce Experience If GFE is trying to update there will be a folder called (surprisingly) \Update
