I gave it to the Krogan. There was a certain nervousness based on Krogan aggressiveness but i felt it was important to try and bring them back into the fold and not have them be an enemy to the fledgling initiative. My Ryder appreciated that they defended the Nexus from the exile scum.

is there a way to change your mind and give her the core later? I kept the drive core because because I didn't know that keeping it would prevent me from fighting the Architect on Elaaden.
I returned to Elaaden to give her the core but now she won't talk to me.

But also, even if you give it to her when you can, she'll still never talk to you again.

As a player you gain literally nothing from keeping the drive core. So might as well have krogan friends...

The genophage was enough, my Ryders aren't repeating the history of snooty non human politics and speciesism.
And good job if the Krogan makes weapons. We got kett to point them at and we didn't bring any significant gun power with us.

Why not give it to the Krogan? Having the drive core doesn't actually have a meaningful impact on the Nexus while giving it the Krogan gets us an settlement and the Krogan back into the fold. I don't trust Morda but I don't see her or the Krogan as a threat. They have one settlement with only three hundred people and no allies. They be could wiped out relatively easily if push came to shove.

Consider this:
Everything you hear about Morda "making a bomb" from the drive core comes from... whom? Yeah. It's pretty clear Morda's bitter, angry, but trustworthy enough. Drack is surprised by what he hears from Jorgal, making it clear that it's not what he expected. And the omnitool recording isn't all that convincing.

I give it to the Krogan because fuck the Nexus. They're just Council-Lite with all the ingrained racism thereof.

I look at it this way. Ever since they made first contact with the rest of the galaxy, the Krogan have been treated as cannon-fodder to fight other's wars or meat-shields to hide behind when things get too dicey. Of course they're going to be bitter about being treated as disposable and discarded the moment they're no longer useful. Going to Andromeda was meant to change everything, but look what happened! Once again they were used as muscle during the Nexus Uprising, only to immediately be thrown aside when they weren't needed. So naturally they jumped ship and left to set up their own colony. Giving them the drive core means that the Krogan can no longer be denied a seat at the bargaining table as equals, something they've seemed to have wanted ever since the Rachni Wars. Part of what spurred the Rebellions was because they wanted more political sway and their requests for worlds to populate were being denied. No-one can deny that they did try to take over the galaxy, but even after the Genophage rendered them no longer a threat, it still continued to be held over them and used to keep the Krogan down. It'd be like if the UN continued to sanction Germany for participation in both World Wars, despite modern Germany having a totally different government and most of the participants in said wars having long-since died of old age. (Yeah, I know the analogy isn't exactly the same given that Krogan can live for over a thousand years. Still, aside from seriously old dudes like Okeer, Drack and a couple others mentioned, most of the Krogan who fought in the Rebellions don't seem to be around any more. Why continue to punish the current Krogan for the actions of a previous generation?) Morda seems only to want to ensure that everyone (especially the Initiative) recognises the Krogan colony's autonomy, independence and status as a sovereign nation in it's own right. It might be a risk to give her the core, but I think the Krogan deserve to be given a chance to prove themselves capable of determining their own future, rather than have it dictated or enforced by others. (And maybe it's just me, but I'd much rather hang out with Krogan than the stuffed-shirts on the Nexus)

We got kett to point them at and we didn't bring any significant gun power with us. In the OT i am absoutely pro-genophage. No concessions. Somehow in ME:A I just don't see the point in (continously) stifling the Krogan, despite my preference for being Renegade. Although I consider the Drive Core issue to simply be a pragmatic vs non-pragmatic choice.

Once they begin birthing alot of Krogan with the genophage somewhat becoming less of issue over time. After awhile, they are going to start needing plenty of planets. Hopefully, they will expand without taking over planets occupied by other species.
Besides that, I give the drive core anyway. I just hope someone level headed continues to lead the Krogan. Or in 1000+ years, things will be going haywire.

The drive core choice is not really a choice. The Initiative needs outposts, and to do that, you need to have support from the Krogan (on Elaaden, Angara on Voeld, and Exiles on Kadara), so choosing to keep the core will ultimately hurt the initiative, so give it to Morda all the time.
