I think it's judicious for them to buff conservatively at this early stage. If they overcompensate and buff too many things by too much now, it will just create problems for them further down the line.

However, this balance pass is quite piecemeal. There are no clearly identifiable criteria by which they based their attention; e.g. yes semiauto ARs are bad, but so are the other ARs. 90% of the weapons need buffs or bugfixing but it seems like they just drew lots from a hat to decide which of the small proportion of the number they would do something to. And whatever happened to the Mattock is redolent of the bizarre changes applied to the Vindicator in the first week of ME3 support.

Nothing on power balance is a deafening silence. Powers are not even strong enough on Bronze. It doesn't help that they eviscerated the trilogy's biotic repertoire for no clear reason. The strength of Mass Effect's combat compared to other similar games has always been the diversity in how you can approach it and there was a very good accretion of loadouts by the end of ME3's content cycle. They hit the reset button for some reason and most kits share one or more powers, with some abilities showing up far too often (e.g. Throw, Frag Grenade). Given the decrease in species diversity dictated by the constraints of the setting, it was imperative that loadout diversity be maintained to draw in as many players as possible, but this didn't happen.

Some of the bugfixes and changes to enemies are good and the few weapon buffs we did get are welcome. Hopefully the next patch is meatier based on the greater volume of telemetry they'll have.

The Kett could still use some tuning down. Especially the Ascendant, with his Jesus bubble and area ranged attack through walls and sync kill. But even the firepower of the Anointed and the speed of the dogs... it's just a brutal combination.

But... but... how are they going to keep the money coming in, then? People who have a ton of guns already might use them, rather than fruitlessly buy points in hopes of getting a drop that is not shit.

OMG you want biower to fold or something? They are a business, it is completely legitimate for them to try to turn a profit!

The game will blue screen no matter what, but if you are in a party chat with someone and playing the game with them it will blue screen 1 of you almost all of the time...at least in my experience.  I have yet to play more than a few games with anyone I know.  It's pug 4 life in ME: A....I don't even attempt to play with people anymore.  Was hoping they would fix this. I guess not.


I will say the first game I played after the patch was a bluescreen and it was a pug.  I've only played 3 matches total since the patch so I will throw my experience with this in later as well.  There are more than a few people reporting this.  They might have broke something.

Nope all PUGs. Finished 1/5 matches due to this garbage. Did not happen once before patch. I'm rustled

I think Dahn is great now after the patch. The hit detection is much better now most likely because lag is better. And reloading is pretty fast too.

So there is still no point playing MP as a biotic. Got it.

me3mp 4 guys started brand new accounts took the lvl 1 predator pistols with the shrikycans lvl1 on their lvl1 characters and did a platinum game on the modified fbw hazard map and won without using a single cobra missile or medigel

just to prove the point that even the basic weapons were viable on higher difficulties.....

this game those basic weapons aren't even viable on bronze never mind harder difficulties, hell even a predator x on an infiltrator with extended magazines evolution, ammo gear and pistol rail 3 cannot headshot kill a single unshielded mook without burning through an entire clip, that's not balanced, balanced would be 2or 3 headshots per kill, for the weapon to be viable, needing you to squeeze out 10>15 shots per kill is just dumb even for body shots it shouldn't be that many.....
