Someone please explain reasoning behind this. They have little interest in science and technology, next to other races. They are disorganized, have no unified government or stable social structure, still living in a "primitive" clan societies, fighting endlessly against one another.
Their economy and information network is also most likely poor. When it comes to military tactics and strategy, they rely more on brute force than anything else.
Their numbers and raw strength mean nothing in this setting...one bomb in this age can wipe half of planet. And tactics and technology are what matters more in starships warfare.
They kind of seem more like a sci-fi equivalent to orcs, but still living with the same mentality/values as their fantasy "cousins".
